I've been buying this product for a good number of years, and I continue to use it because its quick acting and is completely safe to the plumbing hardware. When I use a maintenance dosage placed in the drain in the evening and flush the treatment in the morning, I have no worry about using a caustic product that has to be timed and flushed to prevent damage to plumbing pipes and fixture drains
