Install this ultra-quiet 75 CFM cross flow blower to move heat from stoves and fireplaces to warm other levels of your house. Installs in floor joist and features expandable metal blower housing to fit floor joist depths from 8 to 16in.

Yes, I have the cold air blowing down on it from my main level to the basement which is where my pellet stove is. it heats the whole house great and the basement as well. I went with this setup based on a contractor's recommendation and glad I did.

Q: I have a mini split down stairs from my bedroom that heats/cools my first floor. Will this work to keep my bedroom cool?

It will probably help some, although cold air tends to fall. I've used mine strictly for heat from a pellet stove in my basement.

Q: Does this unit shut itself off when the AC or heat is not on?

i put two between floors. i wired them to a light switch. you could wire them through a senser that detects you Heat pump status and then turn on the fans.
