I shopped around a lot for the right table saw looking at all the reviews both positive and negative and I chose this Dewalt table saw with its own heavy duty and I mean heavy duty table and foldable legs. There are cheaper saws on the market but if you want a really good quality table saw, this is the saw for you. The Dewalt saw was easy to put together as well as attaching the legs to the table and then attaching the saw to the table. I was really impressed with the quality of the legs and table as well as the wheals attached to the table for easy moving in, around and out of my shop. It takes only a few seconds to open the legs up and stand the saw up for use. What I really like is when it is folded up it takes up very little space which is nice for a small shop. The best part of this saw was after putting it together it was already squared up and very true. When I made test cuts the 90 and 45 degree cuts were spot on. You couldn’t ask for anything better. The only complaint is I wish that Dewalt would make a better miter gauge for this saw. It is cheap which almost every saw on the market are cheaply made now a days. With the quality of this saw, Dewalt should also make a quality miter gauge to match the quality of this saw. But no mater, even with it having a cheap miter gauge I couldn’t be happier for this purchase as it was money well spent. With the quality of the saw and the stand, it will be the last saw that I purchase! I can’t wait to really put this saw to the test!

If you're looking for a saw that will cut as precisely and feels as solid as a contractor saw, this is not it. If portability, repeatability, reliability, and ease of use are a priority, then this is a phenomenal saw. If you're a hobbyist who needs a good solid saw to build projects, a good contractor saw can be had for the same, or less money and will suit your needs better. If you're a hobbyist and room is a major concern, than this may be the saw for you. What it comes down to is the fact that this saw is exactly what it claims to be, a jobsite saw. Its incredibly light (compared to my Ridgid MSUV and DeWalt Miter saw combo) and remarkably stable for it's weight. I've had no problems ripping full size sheet goods on it. It does require a second set of hands, or good solid indeed/outfeed support for larger/longer goods, but it's still doable. The higher RPM motor pulls well through tough to cut hardwoods such as oak, even with a less than ideally sharp blade. It struggles a bit on anything thicker than 4/4, but I'm confident enough to take on tougher jobs with the right blade and proper preparation. The assembly was straight forward and quick. The stand is very functional and easy to manage by yourself. Once the saw is set up and usable, it can still be moved around by a single person, but remains stable when feeding stock. I'm impressed. I wasn't sure what to make of the fence system when I first used the saw, but after a little practice and some white lithium grease on the tracks and gears, it operates smoothly and efficiently. The built in tape measure for the fence is surprisingly accurate, though for critical cuts I still double check with a ruler. My arbor was square with the fence and miter slots from the factory. Adjustment appears to be pretty manageable when it becomes necessary. The on saw storage for push sticks, fence, miter gauge, wrench, blade guards and cord are convenient and a good use of space. I do despise the miter gauge. It is very cheap and flimsy, but that's why I travel with a nice, large capacity miter saw. It does it's job, but just barely. For the money I would have liked to see a little higher quality miter gauge included. Overall, I caught this saw on sale and couldn't be happier. If I'd paid full price for it, I would likely be a little disappointed and I'm not above admitting that the rush I feel from deal shopping has likely skewed my review. If you can find it for a good price, I would recommend this saw over anything it's competitors offer. P.S. I'm a finish carpenter and cabinet builder by trade. This saw works 3-4 days a week.

I’ve used this over a year now and am impressed with its portability, cut, functionality, and solid construction. If you need absolute precise cuts you’ll need to tinker with the standard fence. But the overall practicality and quality of this tool is as advertised.

Somehow, I managed to get through life so far with a 1960's vintage Craftsman 9-inch radial arm saw, which I've used to build wall-mounted bookshelves, several workbenches, storage cabinets, picture frames, and a variety of speaker cabinets. These days, I do all my crosscuts on a power miter saw and I'm at an age where I no longer feel as confident trying to rip lots of raw lumber with the radial arm. Recently, I needed to rebuild a rotted back porch on a rental property, which required ripping lots of wet, treated lumber for spindles along the bottom half of the porch, plus numerous other pieces. After looking at every saw carried by out local big box orange store and big box blue stores, and watching dozens of YouTube video reviews, I settled on the DWE7491RS for my porch construction and hopefully some future cabinet-making projects. Other reviewers have covered pretty much all the pros & cons of this saw model, so I'll mainly offer some observations based on the sample I received. First and foremost, of course is the table. Yes, it is warped, but only slightly and not in a critical area. It is perfectly flat between the miter gauge slots, but has a slight slope from the fence-side slot to the right edge of the table. It droops by approx. 0.018" at the right-rear corner and about 0.012" at the right-front corner. Also, I sure wish they could coat the table with something smoother and more durable than that gray, painted finish. I tried waxing it before each use, which does help the wood glide easier, but after this one project, I can already see the gray finish wearing off in spots. Out of the box, most of the saw's adjustments were pretty close to optimal. Heel & runout were perfect as was the riving knife alignment. The blade, however, was 0.40° past vertical when set at zero, and was also slightly off at 45°. The fence was a few thousandths out of square and the rip scale was also slightly off, but both were easy to adjust. I really don't like the cam discs used for setting the 0° and 45° bevel stops on this saw. It requires too much trial & error to get it perfect, as the cam wants to rotate slightly when the Allen bolt is tightened down. I much prefer the machine screw & locknut system used for limit stops on most of my other power tools. Overall, this saw is quite a beast and it had no problem ripping some extremely wet, treated 2x6es. I did pop the breaker a couple of times (at load center, not saw), but once I moved the shop vac to a different branch circuit, I never had this problem again. Thanks to the electronic start, you can't use a single switch to control both the saw & vac, so this wasn't an issue. I was initially annoyed that the saw came with two different size dust ports and a user manual recommendation to use a Y-adapter, but such an adapter was not included (nor is one sold at any hardware retailer I could find, including the Dewalt website). Fortunately, with a shop vac connected to the 2-½" bottom port, there isn't a whole lot of sawdust coming out of the 1-½" blade guard port. Rather than rig up a 2-½" Y-adapter plus a hose-reducing adapter, I just transferred the fabric dust bag from my miter saw to the blade guard and this combination seems to work just fine. Another minor gripe, common to nearly all job site saws, is the inability to micro-adjust the bevel in the same manner as blade height. Not a big deal for the rough carpentry I'm doing right now, but eventually I'd like to do some finer work and it would be nice to have this feature. The Ridgid saw attempts to solve this problem by making the blade height crank dual purpose. It is spring-loaded and pressing it in engages a curved rack & pinion gear for adjusting the bevel angle. It's a clever idea but I found it to be a little clunky in practice. (I didn't try the micro-bevel adjuster on the SawStop—it was well above my budget limit.) I'm pretty happy with everything else. Setup and breakdown are very easy and I like how everything stores onboard (except for my new dado throat plate). The anti-kickback pawls can be a little tricky to attach and remove from the riving knife, but I've already discovered that they work well. Other reviewers have complained about the awful miter gauge that comes with this saw, but this didn't bother me too much. When I encounter a project where it is needed, I'll shop for a suitable Incra. I learned this lesson years ago with my other expensive hobby—astronomy. You can spend thousands on a high-end telescope and it will still come with a toy finder scope (the little telescope attached to the main optical tube). Why? Because there are countless after-market models available, each with their own special features. Same for miter gauges. There is no way a mid-priced table saw can include a gauge with all the features offered by the various Incra or Kreg models, so they don't even try. Besides, the included gauge can be made marginally functional by applying a couple of layers of plastic (exterior grade) painter's tape to the rail. This eliminates most of the slop but still allows it to slide smoothly in the slot. (There is a YouTube video showing how to do this, but it is pretty self-explanatory.) I'll update this review if something especially terrible (or wonderful) becomes apparent with this saw after continued use.

Great table saw. Easy to move around. Everything places all your tool ins and they're on the little slots like they should be very very accurate it's framing made it easy to fit into the truck for transport.

Extremely impresses with the build quality. Pros: - Great for small garage/shed workshops - MAJOR upgrade over my 10" Delta Bench-top table saw. - Able to make 24in rip cuts (and up to 32.5 inch rip cuts) on plywood with ease. - Very sturdy base - Stand collapses for portability and storage. - Quick jobsite or home shop setup - Storage for included Push-stick. - Built in storage for anti-kickback pawls, blade guard and/or riving knife - Can use 8 inch dado set stack up to 13/16" thick Cons: - Some assembly required; doable by 1 person, but a second person helping is much easier. Summary: I highly recommend. I would purchase it again... wish I would have purchased it sooner. I've heard some claim that the motor is slow to come up to speed. This power tool as many others do best on a dedicated circuit. Meaning don't overload your breaker trying to run multiple tools, dust collector, compressor, AC, heater or the likes all on the same circuit... Additionally, these power-tools don't like extension cords that are underrated. I.e. if you are going to use and extension cord, use at least a 20amp cord. Note: Purchased on sale for $509 Nov 2024 - Miter is decent but you may want to upgrade.

With this saw DeWalt seems to have achieved the Holy Grail: a portal saw with a bunch of clever features that also cuts beautifully and accurately. All at a low price. It’s way more than enough for the contractor market, easy to adjust and very transportable. The surprise is that is that it’s also enough for most woodworkers, maybe all woodworkers. A $5,000 half-ton saw has some benefits but in my opinion they’re mostly outweighed (pun intended) by the portability and cost of this saw. This saw leaves a beautiful cut. Does the $5,000 saw leave an even nicer cut? Maybe, maybe not. You’re going to take the wood from the table saw to the jointer anyway, or if you’re like me you’re going to shave off a few thousandths of an inch with a jointer hand plane, which leaves a surface no table saw can beat. The fence is accurate and adjustable. Both the fence and the blade can be made exactly parallel to the miter slots. It’s easier to break down sheet goods on the big, $5,000 saw, but that’s what circular saws and track saws are for. The longer in-feed and out-feed surfaces on the large saw are great, but it’s also easy to build them for your shop, or even to use portable rollers on a temporary basis. This saw has plenty of power. I’m sure there’s a job that a very large saw can do that this can’t do, but that’s true at any level. This saw doesn’t have the SawStop safety feature. Having used table saws for many years, I think the SawStop is more of a gimmick. Not because it doesn’t work and save some fingers, but by far the most dangerous thing about the table saw is the risk of kickback. This saw has a great riving knife. I bought one of those after-market Grr-Rippers for extra protection. The first thing every new woodworker asks is “Which table saw to buy?” With this saw I think DeWalt has changed that entire conversation, and not just for beginners.

Having bought myself a fixer upper of a house, and also wanting to get back into some basic cabinet\furniture making I decided that I needed to buy a table saw. I don't have the room for a full size cabinet saw (or the budget) and I wanted something that I could fold up and store easily out of the way in my basement as well as pull up my basement stairs out into the yard. After doing a lot of research I settled on this saw, and I'm really glad I did. It's clearly been engineered my people have used saws before and have put some thought into it. From the location of the push stick storage, which is easy to grab when needed, to the fence mechanism, as well as the easy set up and fine tuning instructions it comes with. Construction wise, its very well built but also light enough that one person can easily manoeuvre it around. The stand is sturdy and easily folds up when not in use. There os no flex in the fence when locked in place, and the table is more than sold as well. The dust collection is adequate, however as I mention below the extra dust port on the blade guard assembly requires a different size hose so I don't use that one. If you did use the guard port, it would probably be near 100% collection. With a shop vac hooked up it collects over 95% of the dust, with no fine dust getting into the air at all. Very nice for indoor use. After about 6 months of regular use I've really only come up with a couple faults, which in themselves are definitely not enough to make me not want to buy this saw again. my only complaints are follows: 1) I wish the saw included a hose to go between the guard dust collection port, and the main under table one 2) I wish dewalt sold a table extension for it. As much as I love the fence mechanism, it makes it tricky to build your own table for it. So if they made one it's be awesome. This isn't a huge issue, as there are other ways around it

La sierra tardó en llegar un poco más de los esperado. Todo en regla. Hubo que hacer los ajustes de paralelismo de la hoja a la guía, ajuste de 90 y 45 grados. Después de ello, quedó totalmente funcional, cortes realmente buenos, es muy sencilla de operar, los ajustes por medio de piñón y cremallera facilitan la operación. Es un poco ruidosa, pero no se espera que sea silencioso un equipo de esta potencia, al igual resultó muy buena, corta el triplay de 19mm y madera de pino tan suavemente que no te das cuenta. La recomiendo ampliamente.

Thoughtful design. A lot of this saw’s features are already covered in other reviews, but a couple things to add: -bottom dust port works extremely well and fits my large shop vac hose perfectly. -Other reviewers complained about the need for a separate hose for the blade guard’s collection port but I was able to just use the dust bag that came with my dewalt 779 mitre saw. -the controls for everything are extremely simple and reliable. Simple mechanisms unlock the stand, the legs, the blade guard and fence. -The rack and pinion fence markings are accurate to 1/16th inch and negate the need for a tape measure on hand for cuts. -blade is very easy to change and the wrenches have their own onboard storage. -everything has a home. There is excellent storage for every accessory. Those complaining in other comments haven’t looked hard enough. -this is my favorite tool. rock solid.
