My husband loved this gift. Well made and durable. Only issue was that the hand holder does not do a great job and the ocarina falls off a lot. Could just be us though?Overall a lovely item.

It looks nice and would make a nice ornamental piece but as for sound as an instrument it's terrible it's out of tune supposed to be set to a C but is a D so 2 octaves out the lower keys are very flat the higher notes are non recognisable and sound the same if you want this product as an instrument then stay away from this, it is not a musical instrument its an ornament although the stand it comes with is very unstable so you may want to stick it in place with glue or tack.

The ocarina itself has some hefty weight to it because of how thick it is, which is good you really need to get a good nice and thick enough ocarina when you choose a more traditional clay ocarina, the protective bag seems to work really well at preventing dust and minor scuffs when it's in my rucksack (I like to play the ocarina outside in the park usually) I wouldn't know if it will protect it from a fall from a decent height , but it's not like I'm willing to test that on purpose.The only thing I would change would be the display stand, pictured above. I could not find a way to insert it into the hand statue in a way I liked, no matter what I tried there was always the sense of it wobbling and it even fell out and fell (luckily onto a soft pillow) I don't think that's an actual error, I think it's much more likely that I wasn't aware how to make the display work, some instructions so have been useful.The musical booklet seems of good quality, I had no worries about it tearing, which is impressive as other sellers will only provide a PDF or digital copy for such reference material. (Which, having both a physical copy and a PDF file upon request now that I think about it might satisfy anyone who may wish to use the booklet included exclusively for display purposes, but I really don't mind.)
