This product is conditioner. They also make a glove oil. They both say they break in gloves. Does one need both or just one or the other?

We would recommend both at some point. Although both are great for breaking in new gloves, there is a slight difference. The oil is better for that initial break-in, whereas the conditioner keeps the leather maintained over time (after use).

Does this act as a cleaner as well?

No, our experience it’s going to keep the leather in at you’re preferred feel. If you have non preferred substances on the leather, I would use the Sarna Spike/Shoe Cleaner. The smell is pleasant and it appears to work well. I have used on my car seats as the smell is enjoyed by the fam.
