Do you precondition the herb packet as well as the wood packet?

Everything in the packet as well as the stems and wood gets placed into the jug for preconditioning. Best way to precondition is to fill the jug with sweet red table wine or red Sangria like Carlo Rossi red wine for a few days then spill the wine out. Now you can make your mix from the 3 recipes, pour it into the jug and let it ferment for 3-4 days before drinking. Preconditioning is performed only once. If you finish off the contents of the bottle, just refill with any of the 3 recipes or your own recipe.

How many refills is this mix good for?

No one really knows however, in the Dominican Republic, bottles are used over and over for 5 or more years. We have heard of people having their bottles for 10 years and longer, but I believe that is excessive. Thank you.
