A wonderful little box that can do many magic tricks
I received this gadget today and I'm super happy with it!I bought it because of the capability of transmitting to two devices at the same time. I found that it not only does that but many other extremely useful things. The little box is a jack of all trades and comes loaded with all the cables you need.Presentation==========This device comes in a nice little paper box containing the following:1) USB charging cable2) Analog audio cable (mini DIN stereo on both ends, the standard mobile device audio connector)3) Adapter analog audio cable (mini DIN to 2 RCA jacks, so you can connect to your receiver)4) Optical audio cableThe device itself has the following connectors:1) RX Analog audio2) TX Analog audio3) RX Optical audio4) TX Optical audioUses====This is where things get really interesting. You can use the device in many different ways:1) As a bluetooth transmitter, you can connect it to your TV or your Roku/Apple TV/Fire stick/Etc. and use it to connect to one or two bluetooth headsets to watch movies. This is the most obvious use and the main reason I bought it as my Apple TV can only transmit to one bluetooth headset. You can also use it to share music listening between to users with bluetooth headsets by connecting it to your stereo or to your mobile device.2) As a bluetooth receiver, you can use it to add bluetooth capabilities to any powered speaker so you can play music from your mobile device wirelessly. You can also use it this way to turn any pair of wired headphones into bluetooth headphones. What this device does not seem to have is a built-in microphone, so you will not be able to use your wired headphone for phone calls.3) As a optical to analog converter, you can use it to convert your computer's optical output (which is usually much cleaner than the analog output) to analog to connect your non-bluetooth headset without noise. This was an unexpected functionality that I will probably end up using the most. I have very good wired headphones that I was plugging in to the computer analog jack. Using this box, I can instead connect it to the optical output and it sounds WAY better. Good job TaoTronics!Summary========This little box provides a wealth of functionality! If you need it for any of the above uses, I think that it will do the job very well and you will probably end up using it for other things too. The bypass functionality rocks if you have wired headphones connected to your computer and don't have a headphone amplifier.

Easy to use. Great Sound. Learned a couple things about Codecs.
Easy to pair to and sound quality is very good. I initially tried charging through a USB port on my PC and I had hum in the audio. This went away when I used a dedicated wall USB charger. The instruction booklet is very small and you need a magnifying glass to read it. Instructions are fairly straightforward however there is little information on the Codecs and how to select between them. After exchanging emails with support I learned a few things:(1) TT-BA014 does not support Aptx low latency when paired with two devices.(2) The codec method cannot be changed manually. The instruction booklet says to “Tap and hold the Multifunction Button for 7 seconds to turn on/off the HD mode”. This didn’t work for me and contradicts what support told me. My setup has two of these devices, one to transmit from a PC and the other receives to a stereo amplifier. Apparently the TX unit selects the Codec based on what the receiving blue tooth device is capable of. When pairing two of these same devices (TT-BA014) the “LL” (low latency) codec is selected. There does not seem to be a way to select the codec manually. In my setup, I don’t care about time latency but I do want the best audio quality I can get. Perhaps the aptX HD would be better for me than the LL Codec but I have no way to try it. However, I’m very happy with the sound quality in “LL” mode. No hum when my stereo is turned up to maximum. My suggestions would be:(1) Include a wall USB charger.(2) Make the instruction booklet larger.(3) Give more information on the Codecs and how they are selected.(4) Provide a way to manually select the codec when two of these devices are used as a pair (one TX and one RX).

The solution I was looking for
I've been experimenting with different solutions for multi-room audio. I have multi echo devices and chromecast audio devices which serve me well for music. The solution I was looking for was multi-room audio for the video source in our living room. It's nice to go to the kitchen and be able to hear the audio without turning the volume up to uncomfortable levels in the living room. That's where this device comes in. I originally purchased one and connected it to our receiver's zone out. It then transmitted the sound to a bluetooth speaker. While this worked, there was the expected audio delay. I purchased a 2nd unit and connected that to the speaker's aux input. The devices connected in Low Latency mode and the experience was much better. An installer previously suggested a Sonos system. For my needs this is much better solution. It is not only cheaper but more flexible given my existing equipment.
