Usual silva quality
As a scout leader, I like silva compass’s, they are good quality and reliable

When you can't read the signposts, it's always useful to know where north is.
A long time ago, long before iphones and the cloud, I spent a month in Japan for my work. I was not accompanied so I had to find my own way around. A predecessor to this was without doubt the most useful device I took with me. When you can't read the signs it's always useful to know where north is. A friend is heading off to the far east to explore. Nowadays one has great maps, directions etc etc on one's phone - provided they work when needed. So I got this wee compass for him as a partial back up. This compass seems sturdy and accurate, and small enough to stick in a pocket. With luck, at least he won't head off in the wrong direction if his phone doesn't work - I hope !

Good Compass
Bought this for my son who is in scouts. It's a compass and it points to North so not much to review there but it is good quality and the dial etc are easy to read. It's not the cheapest option but it is still good value for money given it's quality and importance of this if you are using it to navigate off the beaten track. Id always rather have a compass I trust than the cheap option for what they cost.

Functional and fit for purpose in all weathers
The compass came as expected in good time and good packaging. It was easy to assemble and looks lovely. The glowing face (at night time) and rubber ring for turning make it easier, especially if it is wet. Really looking forward to making use of this.

What a great deal!! The finest quality materials. I bought this for a friend as has now become my mountaineering buddy. Over the years I have tried several compasses but this one is the most durable and accurate. Sylva got this spot on and understand equipment quality saves lives. Brilliant just brilliant. Having tested it for several months my buddy could not praise it enough. Big thumbs up 👍
