Gave this to my sister as a Christmas present. She was impressed by it, but did mention it was a bit on the heavy side. She then handed me her old drier for comparison purposes, and definitely there was a difference...It took her some getting used to, but she loves it. Any guys thinking of this as a gift for a woman in your life? Do not hesitate. Unless she is tiny like my sister. Make sure she can maneuver it. Then again, if my sister could, I’m sure anyone can.

The media could not be loaded.  Got this for my wife for Christmas (she specifically requested a hair dryer, I'm not JUST being a stupid guy). However I will say that reviews for women's products, at least regarding hair dryers, struck me as maddeningly subjective and condescending! Compared to tool reviews, which a hair dryer is a tool, the main criteria seem to be: OOOH! LOOK! and "buy this because I told you to and that's all you need to know."So, I recorded a video of the noise level because, having worked in industrial environments for about 15 years, my hearing sucks and I didn't want my wife's hearing damaged by an unnecessarily loud piece of junk.The heat and airflow are less than a lot of the typical cheap dryers, but the wife says it doesn't tangle her hair as badly and it still flows on the low end of a normal dryer's airflow volume. For what it's worth, and in the name of introducing subjectivity, her hair is very thick (she has Chilean ancestry) and it doesn't take noticably longer to dry.This thing does have some heft to it, it's not hernia-inducing, but it's probably close to twice the weight of many cheap dryers. I believe I read that it has an AC motor, as opposed to DC which doesn't make a lot of sense as houses use AC, but that's supposed to account for the weight and lower volume level. For reference, expect to easily be able to hold a conversation with someone standing next to you; there's noise and it's nowhere near silent, but you don't have to shout over the thing or have your ears ring afterward.It wasn't cheap, but if it lasts, it'll be worth it.
