Cast Iron gives off a more even heat and holds it far longer than steel - great for amazing grill marks/sears Seasoned Cast Iron Grates provide a non stick cooking surface - brush the grate clean in seconds Strong & resilient - Cast Iron Grates withstand higher temperatures than normal grates. And like other good Cast Iron product it will last a lifetime if cared for properly Our grates are thicker, have more rods and are heavier than most other grates out there. Size 15" x 11.3", Set of 2 for a total area of 572 X 380mm, 15x22.5" Fits Spirit210/Genesis A Gas Grills

Quality product & fitted perfectly
I have replaced my Weber Spirit 210 porcelaine coated cooking grates as they were badly corroded. I blame myself for this as in the early days I used to over- zealously clean them. I believe I may have damaged the coating and once this breaks down water gets in and corrosion starts. I had to replace the flavorizer bars last year on account of same issue. These cast iron grates fitted perfectly. They have beautifully hand fettled and they have been already seasoned. From what I had read about cast iron grates I was worried about food sticking. But the pre-seasoning really worked. Today we had chicken, burgers, sausages, courgettes, peppers & tomatoes. All went really well and the cast iron gives you professional broad char marks that you just don't get from steel.Although the price may seem high this is a quality product and despite the quite high shipping cost due to the weight the price in the UK is about the same as people pay in the US so you are definitely not being ripped off.

Pimping my BBQ!
I have a Weber Spirit E-210 which I have happily barbecued with for the past couple of years - the only issue I've had with it has been the porcelain enamel cooking grates which, though easy to clean and care for, have lead to hotspots on the grill meaning cooking is uneven and they make it difficult to get the trademark sear marks you want when barbecuing.I'd checked to see if Weber did a cast iron alternative for the E-210 (they don't, but I think there are cast iron alternatives for the larger grills) then looked around for a third party alternative. Craycort seemed to have received positive reviews for their products so I took the plunge. My new cooking grates arrived within three days and are a perfect fit! They are heavyweight cast iron and, while cast iron will require more care than the porcelain enamel to remain in good condition, they're solid enough that they should outlast the BBQ!

Product better than original Weber component
Griddle Plates for Weber Barbeque. OK, they are bare cast Iron and will require cleaning and oiling (food safe) to keep in good order. Vastly better than the original vitreous enamelled mild steel pressings where, after time, the enamelling splinters off, the base steel rusts, undermining more enamel and the whole becoming impossible to clean. Increased thermal mass of cast iron will also better enable the char-lines on meats etc., that are the 'characteristic' of barbequed food. Very pleased.

Cast iron is the way forward
Fitted on my pre-2013 weber spirit e210 perfectly and replaced the standard porcelain coated grates that felt lightweight and needed washing every time I cooked on the BBQ.These are heavyweight and feel robust. Very pleased. I just wish craycort made a cast iron equivalent of the warming rack for these as the standard rack I have is becoming a little rusty. A standard replacement rack is around £15 but I'd pay double that if I could get cast iron that could be maintained and last!
