IT WORKS! UT REALLY WORKS!
I am a P-90 fanatic. Have 'em in three guitars and they are, of course, noisy! At a gig a few weeks ago, the combination of a tube amp, bar neon, an absolutely filthy power source and the P-90s in my Les Paul- the noise was INSANE! SO LOUD!Well... not anymore. Actually went back to the bar to test is- noise was insane, again. Stomped the Hum Debugger on (normal setting)... virtual SILENCE!Zero tone-suck, no change in output signal, just sweet, smooth silence.I've always been an EH fan. All of their pedals are boutique quality at a starving artist price point. But the Debugger is, by far and away, THE most useful pedal I have ever owned.GET ONE (and use the included power supply as instructed). You'll be amazed and THRILLED!

THE HOLY GRAIL
Ive played guitar for about a decade and a half and have never been mich of tech head so you can inagine my frustration when i discovered a humm with new suhr satin ran through my axe fx ii to a yamaha dxr15. Low and behold i learned a valuable lesson about single coil pickups. Perfectly eliminates buzz and hum that no such noise gate can. Best on clean tones, kinda messes with the very high and low ends on distorted tones but at those levels you do t hear hum amyways, or nothing that a simply gate can block good enough. But for ultra clean and crisp tones this device is the only answer in my book, i tried many different types of hum elimantors and a million different guitar/ampprocessor configurations which would only dwindle the signal i actualy wanted to hear. Save your future self a massive nightmare and buy this pedal even if you think you will never need it. Unrelated to the product, but whem i went to my basement to test it out my dishwasher upstairs sprung a leak and i luckily i was downstair otherwise i would have lost all my gear due to a massive amount of water flowing from the cieling into my jam space, non of my gear was harmed and i am very humbled by this sign from the guitar gods. Thank you tc electronics for saving my life from hum and permanant water damage. 🌈 UPDATE: Thought id try seymore duncan hotrails to negate the only single coil i had in the middle pot but they were kinda meh sounding, helped the buzz for one position, but not as good as the humdebugger. If i had all single coils id try the hum canceling backplate made by ilitch but idk much about wiriing to attempt it. Sticking with the humdebbuger since it is pretty versitile and easier to share with other guitarists i meet.

Leaves sonic artifacts
Removes the hum but at a price. Creates a kind of comb filter that butchers the tone you work so hard to get. Returned it.

Lifesaver for P90's
I recently purchased a Les Paul with P90 pickups, and as much as I love the guitar, the hum from the pickups was unbearable. I needed a solution. I did a lot of research before I bought this pedal - I watched every video and read every review that I could find, and needless to say, this pedal gets mixed reviews. I took a chance on the Hum Debugger because I saw that people using it for P90's posted positive reviews, and if it didn't work for me, I knew I could send it back no problem.I'm very happy to say that for my setup, - Les Paul with P90's, into an amp with clean sounds to mild overdrive, using the Normal setting - this pedal works flawlessly! And I am using it in a studio setting with NO perceptible difference in tone, except for the fact that all the horrible hum is GONE! Believe me, as a recording engineer, I am very critical when it comes to tone and audio in general and I would have sent this pedal back in a heartbeat. As stated by others, if you are using a dry, high gain sound with the pedal in Strong mode, you are going to get some artifacts, especially noticeable if you are doing a lot of palm muting metal chugging techniques. Those players may want to look at other solutions.Hope this is helpful.

Good but not perfect
This does a good job but not perfect. I have Charlie Christian pickups in a telecaster and the hum is significant even with shielding in the pickup cavities. With the Hum Debugger, I still get some crackle sounds through my amplifier, but it is mostly quiet. Some have reported that it changes the tone. I don't seem to have that with my guitar.
