High quality and sturdy
This is a very nice gift for a child who loves Science and/or is starting to have more curiosity about science and nature. The book that accompanies it is a nice add. I didn't give this 5 stars only because I wish an owners manual came with the microscope itself so that it was clear how to operate.

10 year old daughter loves it
Great scope and kit for the young student interested in what stuff really looks like. Price was good for for the quality. Good little starter kit for young minds. I would recommend buying extra clear slides at time of purchase to start your own collection. As soon as they see whats going on, everything in the house ends up under the scope to see up close.

Great professional looking and quality.
My grandson loved this and was able to use it, right away. Would have liked a more in depth explanation for the parents regarding the two eye pieces and set up.

Great Microscope for PreTeens
My daughter loved her gift. I think it's a good microscope for pre teens; not too childish. I just think it should have come with a case for protection.
