Kodak Hero 6.1
I have been a Canon or HP user for printers for over 20 years. My last printer was a Canon and it broke down after just a year and to say the least I was very disappointed with it. So I thought I would look for another printer. I went to various magazines and on-line reviews and they this printer very good standing. I decideded to purchase one and I love it. All the controls are in the front and in an order that make sense. Also, it found my Wi-Fi network all on it own. My wife's new laptop found it and installed all the necessary drivers and she now prints her stuff from the living room where she does most of her work. She has all the features of the printer as I do.The setup was very simple and it took me about 10-15 minutes to do the entire setup. It also went on the internet to get new updates of software and firmware. I suggested this printer to a neighbor and I let him have temporary access to my network and he was able to print a 20 page report, which included charts and images. He lived 2 doors down and across the hall and he had no problems with the printout, he used the auto duplex and he was shocked at the crispness of the report. He also sent a fax to my printer using an older fax machine and I handed it to him and the fax was just great. He decided to order one and he was going to order the large cartridges and I told him not to, because Kodak included the large cartridges. Also I told him the cost of the cartridges and he could not believe Kodak HERO 6.1 Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier & Fax how cheap they are.I have also printed out some images of mine that included images I had taken through my telescope and they came out wonderful. They came out so wonderful, I sent a set to my mother, who has a sight problem, and she could see the images so well, she could make out what the images so well, she could tell what objects they were.I recommend this printer for anyone that wants a multi-function printer, I think it is a wonderful printer. As of this date, I have not found a problem, but if I do later, I will update this review.

I wouldn't buy this printer
I bought this printer and from the get-go had problems. A little history - I had an HP. The rollers for the fax were wearing out and they don't offer replacements. So, I went to Sam's and bought their KODAK printer (an earlier model of the HERO 6.1). I had it for 5 days and the electronic display suddenly stopped working. You couldn't print to the printer at all. The printer was not recognized. Well, I returned it and bought this printer on Amazon. Thought that the latest model might have the kinks ironed out. No such luck.First off, the printer DOES not stay set up in Wireless mode. You'd have to shut down the printer and the computer and restart to get it to connect again. My recommendation - if you do buy this printer, use a wired connection.Secondly, I use GoToMyPC for remote connection to my work. I went through tech support there and with Kodak and could not get this printer to work with the remote printer. I had no issues with my previous printer (and have since purchased an Epson and don't have a problem now.)Thirdly, this printer also had the electronic display stop working. You couldn't connect to the printer or even get the power to the printer. In the future, I will never purchase another Kodak printer.

Fairly new to Kodak
This is the first Kodak unit I have purchased. The combination of features and price were quite good and I have been paying a good deal of money for HP Ink in a similar unit. We use the copy/fax/scan features of the printer and I hook it up over a wired ethernet from my 8 port switch. The drivers installed on each pc I have quite fine, even the netbook which I used the web to download the driver from Kodak.About 3 weeks into owning it the printer refuses to turn on. I try the usual suspects, power down, unplugging everything, and so with no change. It has power but it is unresponsive. I go to kodak.com start a chat session with support, go through the steps again with the tech guy, still not working. He tells me this is a rare but known defect with the printer and sets me up for a replacement. This arrives the next day and after installing it and updating the PCs to point to it, it is working fine. One tech glitch and good service, that nets 4 stars as I think service is a key thing and I do like the print quality. If the printer keeps working then I might add a star as I do like the features of automatic two-side printing and less expensive ink as the print heads are separate.

Least expensive ink cartridges, long lasting!
This printer is by far the easiest printer to use and has the advantage of being able to print to it via it's own web address from a variety of mobile devices, and print formats. Our kids/grandkids find this most useful when doing homework away from home, and being able to print remotely from any web browser. The document feeder has performed flawlessly, especially when faxing multiple page documents. Compared to our HP printers, the big savings is in the ink cartridges. Printing to photo paper, images are sharp and difficult to distinguish from a processed photo print. The image quality is that good. We use it in a home network environment and the wireless capability makes it portable, although we mainly use it on a LAN cable. Being able to import directly from media cards or USB drives is also a plus. We can scan documents to any computer on our network, in a variety of extension formats, making it versatile and useful for everyone.
