A new perspective, but rather an expensive one
I've been thinking about getting a lensbaby for a while, but it wasnt top of my list. It took me a while to get the hang of this lens - using internet resources rather than the limited accompanying information. However internet information is plentiful both for artistic and technical needs. This is not a lens for straightforward images, and I purchased it to do something different with autumn colours. The objective was achieved and I loved the results. It would be easier to show an image than describe it (why cant I upload an image to this review - would make sense when its a lens I'm reviewing and its the end result that is important). I took a series of pictures, standing in the same spot, of the same object (a tree) and got some very pleasing results, both with these and others taken during the same day. By the end of the first day of using it I was quite confident about moving the sweet spot around. So far I have only used the lens on a handheld camera, and still need to try it with a tripod. This is a totally manual lens, well made and sturdy, fairly wide angle, unlike other lensbabies f.stop is incorporated. It is rather an expensive lens for a probably limited use, but is light, small and sufficiently durable to have a permanent place in my camera bag. It wont come out every time I go out to take photographs, but it will come out regularly.

This is as good as you are willing to make it
This is as good as you are willing to make it. If you are the sort of person who wants things to work for you straight away, then don't bother. But if you enjoy learning processes, experimenting and discovering new ways of taking pictures, then this is perfect for you.It isn't true tilt/shift photography, more a sort of selective focus circular shift style, so if you want linear tilt/shift then you will have to pay considerably more. For those who want to explore their creative potential, this is ideal.

Super Sweet
When Eastman and Kodak were thinking about photography. This would be the kind of lens they would want you to use. Evey picture you take with it is an emotional journey. If you looking for a technical review, sorry know idea, however I borrowed a tilt and shift lens, which was amazing for pictures and video across the vertical and horizontal plain of view. The lens baby ball joint gives much more freedom of movement and needs some practice to lock down your focus.

weird effects aplenty
very nice piece of equipment can produce some spectacular effects if you know what you are doing, I could not get on with mine and it did not seem to link with camera settings. Most likely was me just not understanding how to use it effectively. so I have returned it the following day with no problems and a full refund. Its a well made bit of kit it appears to be robust and well put together but its just not for me.

I love my lensbaby
I love this little lens. Purchased to try some new images and I can say if you are stuck in a creative rut this would definitely be helpful. The lens is very well made and can stand a lot of messing with. Please spend the extra on the composer pro it is definitely well worth it. The sweet 35 lens is a dream. I love them both and wish I could keep them all on the camera the whole time. They totally suit a creative fine art photographer.

A bit disappointing
Not as effective as I'd expected; I think it would work best on a full-frame DSLR. It does appear well-made, however, and the way it is adjusted is much better than the older type of this lens. I feel that its usefulness will be quite limited.

Great wee lens
Great wee lens. Makes you think about composition and focus which is a good thing. The sweet spot is small so I havent tried anything moving but enjoying being creative.

Great fun, great price
Item arrived less promptly than normal for Amazon. But it was a good price and was well packaged. I have had many hours of fun exploring this great new addition to the Lensbaby family and would highly recommend it.
