Got the all black shells, following a Youtube video I was able to swap them out pretty easy. The plastic feels great, everything fits great. Really good shells.

The extremerate shells fit together well and are good quality. I would not recommend using the included screwdriver. The screwdriver was too hard and seemed like it was on its way to stripping the screws of the Switch. I used the Y00 and +00 screwdrivers from the Oria Precision Screwdriver set and those worked perfectly. The extremerate shells also come with replacement buttons and screws, which are helpful in case you lose one. (The screws are really tiny, it’s helpful to keep them organized during the shell swap). The extremerate shells (at least the ones I got) do show fingerprints, but that’s not a big deal to me; I just use a microfiber cloth. Overall the shell swap was challenging and fun and I’m happy with the way my Switch looks now.

This is a very tedious modding project. You have to be very patient, and have the right tools. I bought an extra set of tools for this to work. Especially needed some good long tweezers. I did this following a video on Youtube.I had the original red and blue joycons, and for some reason they were bothering my sight when I was playing, they were very distracting to my eyes. Bought these on black and fhey work awesome now. Used my full original set of buttons, so can't comment on the OEM ones.I recommend this mod if you're tired of the old joycon look, or if you just need a replacement for a broken one. But is not gonna be as easy as one may think. And it takes time to do it perfectly. There's always a chance you could break a ribbon, just be extra careful. It's very rewarding seeing your result and playing it, they feel like new again too.If I get another pair of Joycons I would probably buy again later; I liked those clear dark blue ones.

Installing wasn’t too bad. YouTube video would’ve helped better if it was more descriptive. Ran into a few problems and I tried to fix it but the controller wouldn’t turn on in the end. Very disappointed. I now have to buy another set of joy cons.

For the money I’d say this is only worth it if aesthetics means a lot to you. For me it was and that’s the only reason I got it. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else because the install process is super tedious and you need to very delicate with the removal/install. That’s not the company’s fault but still… The buttons they give you are also really cheap looking/feeling in comparison to the original ones but the casing itself feels VERY nice. Would be nice if they included the slide on grips as well for the price but it’s not the end of the world.Overall, looks amazing, feels amazing, but included buttons look/feel cheap, process is super tedious and it’s ever so slightly overpriced. Otherwise, awesome.

the shells fit exactly like they needed to. exact copy of the original shells so it made it easy to put together along with coming with the hardware needed if you was to drop the small screws along with the tool to take them apart.

This is a case replacement, first and foremost, and the project to do this was incredibly fun. The one I got did come with buttons and triggers, but I was after a custom look and ordered separate buttons and triggers anyway.This case feels different from a regular joy-con shell, it's a bit more grippy and doesn't have that cheap plastic feel to it, and overall is very sturdy.Definitely use the screws it came with, though, they are different from the originals.

Hard as heck to install, no fault of this product, joycon replacement shells are just hard especially your first time. Watch videos on how and you’ll get it

Quedaron a la perfección es buena calidad el material solo que no es igual a la de los joycons originales, queda un poco de marcar de las huellas pero de ahí todo lo demás esta perfecto recomiendo ver videos de youtube para la instalación

This is a for real review on these shells.. THEYRE SO WORTH IT the quality is 9/10 almost nintendo quality , damn close tho.I wanted my switch to look clean and classy and these shells where the cherry on top. Perfect cut seemless . I was so surprised, im writing this review lol. They come with extra screws the long and short silver ones and the exterior screws, also springs for the triggers. And the best part, they throw in a screwdriver with both heads you need , "Y" and Phillips.The plastic is feels sooo good ,soft to the touch but different from the regular joycons. Get em they're great and it feels awesome when you first click them back in.

Easy to transfer all of my joy-con electrical components over. If you're unsure how to do this ExtremeRate have 'how to" videos on their Youtube channel. But as long as your delicate with the ribbon cables and follow the instruction video, your nan could do it without her reading prescription.works perfectly with my screen unit and no docking issues on the stand.finished nicely with a soft touch feel for comfort and slight grip. I opted for the black housings. Despite the image looking slightly grey, they are in fact the matt black colour Joy-cons batman would own.I also bought the LED tuning kit for the joy-con indicators and dock which complete the look perfectly.highly recommend for people that don't want to spend £70 on a new set of Nintendo Joy-con units just for the sake of changing the colour. this is a much better alternative.
