Travel Delhi: Places to Visit in Delhi

I have read the book and it helped me to prioritize what I wanted to visit during my upcoming trip to Delhi. It isn't designed for in-depth history, only to indicate what is worthwhile seeing. I find this to be helpful!

I ordered this book for my first trip to Delhi in Feb. 2018. I had one day that I was not working so I used Shalu's book to decide which places to visit. This was very helpful because my guide wanted to direct me to other places that I did not know about. I visited Humayun's Tomb (excellent!), India Gate (nice), Red Fort (meh), and Akshardham (amazing!). I found that Shalu's time estimates were spot on (I had to rush at one place). Know that the prices for some of the destinations have increased from what in in the book. Nevertheless, I was able to visit all four of these places and eat lunch on the equivalent of 25 US dollars plus cost for a driver and guide for 8 hours (another 55 US dollars).

India has been on my list of places to travel for some time now. I visited the country when I was in the U S Army some decades ago and I've wanted to go back since then. Shaku Sharma, the author has created this book, listing and detailing the various places to visit in Delhi, both Old Delhi and new. I would want to organize my own tour of places like the Janpath Market and the monument at Akshardham. Heck, I'd like to visit all the places she mentioned even though I might take 2-3 days. The photos included in the book along with the sites listed is wonderful

It's a full packed guide with valuable information covering top places to visit while your journey. Traveling will not be interest anymore if your time is wasting wandering here and there. So read this guide before you traveling to Delhi then your journey will be a more delightful one.

Delhi, India's bustling capital has many famous and fascinating tourist destinations. The vast Red Fort and the Jama Masjid Mosque are some of the architectural splendors of northern India. We should be aware of these places to enjoy the most. This book make us familiar with all important places. Keep this guide with you if you plan to visit Delhi.

Not a travel guide but a very good introduction to knowing which the main sights are. I am going to Delhi in February and this small guide had been helpful .

Whether planning a vacation or free time during a business trip to Dehli I recommend reading and taking Travel Dehli on the trip. Shalu Sharma gives a listing of the sights, including pictures. She includes historical information as well as various other info a traveler needs to know such as cost, amount of time to visit, hours of visitation, the best means of travel around Dehli along with a variety of other information.A must read and own if visiting Dehli for any reason.

I bought this hoping that, as it's written by someone living in the country, it might give me an insider's view of the best places to visit in Delhi. I was disappointed. While not promoted as a travel guide, it's a printed version of an eBook (complete with hyperlinks!), listing brief information about the usual tourist sights. I could have found the same list almost anywhere, on TripAdvisor or in a Lonely Planet or Rough Guide book for example.It's clearly never been proof-read and, while some grammatical errors can be excused, it's liberally littered with missing words and misspellings. The over-large type used throughout is either to make it easier for reading by the visually impaired or to pad it out to make it seem like a real book. The black and white photos of each of the sights are poorly reproduced and truly uninspiring.Sorry Shalu, this is clearly not your best work. My advice to readers has to be: save your money!
