Worked on Honda Ridgeline lug
Fixed my 2007 ridgeline lug threads that apparently the tire shop messed up a bit. Started on back and worked to the front slowly. Use cutting oil and vice scrips and it will work.

Works great
I was trying to remove my steering wheel. I backed off the nut, rapped on the nut with a hammer as an always do as to not mess up the threads on the post. Apparently , the nut was made out of super cheap metal and not only stripped, but embedded its threads onto the post. Looking like a $900 oh crap, I was about to slice open a die I had, then found this one, the $20 saved me some $$$.

Be extremely careful when applying and removing
This tool is a lifesaver. The local tire shop mangled several lugs on my trailer. This tool let me repair the threads, rather than having to remove the wheels to replace the studs. It's very easy to use - place the halves around the stud below the damaged threads, place a socket over the tool, and use a ratchet to back the tool off of the stud. I'd give it five stars, but one of the alignment pins broke the first time I used it. Luckily enough of the pin remains for me to get the parts lined up.

Money and time saver
So easy to chase treads on wheel studs, start from the back moving the die towards you, avoiding the need to replace the stud, saving time, money and effort,

Works Great
Steelman makes a lot of speciality automotive tools that do the job. I got this on to chase 12mm 1.25 Subaru wheel studs. Its a 2 piece tool that allows You to start in the middle of the stud and then chase the threads in either direction. It does a great job without cutting more threads. Cleans up the threads only.

Great for Lug Nut Cross Thread Repair
Great tool! I was putting my winter tires on and one of the lug bolts was cross threaded what a nightmare, I called around and it would be about $200 to fix so I decided to do some research on how to replace and found that I didn't want to mess around with moving brake parts just to get this out even though a new lug bolt is about $5. So went ahead and go this thread chaser and problem solved!

It just works
I have a Honda Civic, that the tire lugs are getting worn and partially stripped, probably caused by using an electric impact gun for the last 10 years or so.. And one tire side was really bad, as even my impact gun would seize up so far trying to put the lug nuts on.. Well I took all 4 tires off, cleaned the rust and contamination from the threads of all the lugs with a small wire wheel in my cordless drill, then once cleaned up, used this tool to remove any thread imperfections.. I used a pair of vice grips to hold the 2 halves together, and I have to say, this worked so well. The one tire side that was really bad, it actually repaired the threads to new condition ... Now every stud, I can put the lug nuts on by hand all the way to the bottom without it binding up.. A well spent 30 dollars or so !!!

Quality tool
Helped me salvage wheel stud threads. Does come apart so pros and cons. Narrow profile. Takes 1" socket or adjustable depending on outside clearances. I'd probably look for a general purpose thread repair kit next time.

Works as advertised!
Used this to fix the threads on one of the wheel studs on my 2011 Kia Soul, wish I had purchased this to use before trying to fix the threads by hand. Needs a 1" wrench or socket to fit over the die.
