Fantastic - Easy to fit, works a treat, brilliant value
Spent ages looking for a smart garage controller (due to repeatedly leaving the door open!) Mostly focused on smart controllers that were getting close to £200, but couldn't find one that ticked all the boxes (alerts, remote control, Alexa integration, check status via an app) Then noticed mention of the Meross controller on a forum, so checked it out. To be honest, I was sceptical on how good it would be for 30 quid, when I was willing to spend 6 times that. Looked at the excellent reviews, and thought 'what's to lose?' Well, I have to say I was not disappointed at all. This is probably the best value gadget I have ever bought!! It seems really good quality, does everything I need, does it well, and was a piece of cake to setup. You need to have a compatible garage door controller, but Meross tell you how to test if yours is not listed (it will work with a much wider range than they list). If you have the option for a pulse switch (basically a push-button to open/close the garage), it should work (and you can keep your existing button.. I have an unusual controller (Teckentrup Carteck Drive 600 Pro). It has a separate wall-mounted control unit, which in my case was the far side of the garage from where I wanted the Meross, so wiring the controller switch cable was my biggest job. If you have a 'normal' opener where the drive unit and controller is in one unit on the ceiling, you'd probably attach the Meross to that). Installation is pretty simple... Firstly, check that you have a good Wi-Fi signal wherever you are going to place the Meross controller. Then wire the switch feed to the push button connection (you will need to get some cable if you're not mounting the Meross on, or next to the garage door closer. Wire the supplied sensor to the door (the magnetic sensor needs to be within about an inch of the magnet) and connect the USB power lead on the Meross to a socket. Then install the app, and it's pretty self-explanatory. Alexa setup was easy and works well (Alexa, is the garage locked/unlocked, lock the garage door, unlock the garage door - you can set a PIN for the latter). Alerts on the app work well to alert you when garage is opened or closed. You can also set alerts to tell you if the garage door is open for more than x minutes, or after a certain time in the day - or even to close it if still open after x o'clock. Just be aware that if you check the status via the app, you may need to drag the screen down to refresh the status. Twice, the app said "failed to unlock the garage", and the garage door stopped, but may have been because of how long the app was set to 'press the switch' for. I changed that and it hadn't happened since. I set the app up on my wife's phone too - you can set the app up on multiple devices, using the same username and password. It would be good, as a future enhancement, to be able to have 'guest' users with their own logins, so that you can see who has controlled the door. It's slightly odd that in the UK you need to use the words lock/unlock with Alexa ('Alexa, lock the garage' as opposed to 'Alexa, close the garage'). Hardly a big deal! Frankly, it just works. All for 30 quid!! Really impressed, and really good value. Very glad I didn't spend nearly 200 quid on one that wouldn't even work with Alexa in the UK!!

Great Garage Upgrade
I’ve been using the meross Smart Garage Door Opener, and it has exceeded my expectations. Installation was straightforward — the app walks you through each step, and pairing it with my existing garage motor took less than 20 minutes. Everything needed was included, and the instructions were clear and simple. One of the biggest selling points for me was compatibility with Apple HomeKit, and it works perfectly. Being able to control the garage door through the Home app or with Siri has been incredibly convenient, especially when my hands are full. It also integrates smoothly with my existing HomeKit automations. The remote-control features work flawlessly. I can check the status of the door from anywhere, and the real-time alerts when it opens or closes provide great peace of mind. The app is responsive, the sensor is accurate, and there’s almost no delay when operating the door. Build quality feels solid, and the device has been reliable since day one. Overall, this is a fantastic, affordable smart-home upgrade. If you want remote access, accurate monitoring, and seamless Apple HomeKit integration without replacing your entire garage motor, the meross opener is an excellent choice.

Excellent quality and price
Excellent. Works great with my Marantec Comfort 260. Now able to open the door from my phone and through rule based automations. Great price, easy to install. Delighted.

Great device, power cable could be longer
Was originally looking for a replacement remote, but saw this and thought I'd try for 30 quid! It's definately worth the money (and more). Comes with all the cables attached and a usb plug; adhesive and screw fittings for the door detector magnets. Paper instructions supplied and steps on the Meross app are detailed and take you thru every step and confirms things are working at each stage. Could probably have put it up in 15 mins, but I like to recheck things and keep it tidy 😀 Reason for not 5 stars... - Power cable much too short for what's expected in a garage. (Bought a 5m USB extension for less than a tenner to reach the wall plug) Also, the setup process didn't complete first time (usual couldn't complete wifi connection), but after restarting, it went straight thru easy, and has connected straight away each time it has been powered off. Connection to Google home was easy. (You need to set a Pin code in the Meross app to allow opening of door via Google). No idea about longevity, but as with most tech, there's no moving parts, so shouldn't be an issue. Garage door opener: Challenger CH1000

Easy to install, and works exactly as expected
I've been looking at this for a while, as I have a nasty habit of leaving the garage door open - I blame the door itself or the remotes, but my wife's convinced I'm just careless and should wait and watch the door close. But who's got the time to wait for that? It's powered by USB, so I needed to buy a USB extension cable so that it would reach to the power socket, but otherwise everything necessary came in the box. There was even a choice between adhesive pads or screws to attach the sensors, which was a nice touch. In terms of installation, it was simple - stick the door sensors by the garage door, run the cables from there to the motor unit, put the contact trigger cables into the door motor's trigger inputs, run the power cable, and done. Probably half an hour all told, and most of that was running the cables. The software walks you through it nicely, and at the end you've got a garage door that you can monitor from your phone, and will send you an alert if the door gets accidentally left open. In terms of other integrations, it works great with both alexa and google's assistant, and there's a 3rd party plugin for home assistant if you want to use that which can also trigger the door. I might need to play with that a little as it doesn't quite work the way I'd like it to, but as there's an API from the manufacturer I can always roll my own if needs be. Overall, then - it's a great bit of kit, and a very useful addition to my home automation setup.

Easy to install and use
Having seen the prices of Hormann’s own solution, I bought this opener switch to use with my Supramatic 3E. Very easy to install and I love it so far. Here’s how it went. Plugged in the switch in the garage and followed the instructions and the wizard on the app and it connected to the wifi right away. As the guide advised I checked the door closure sensors and realised that they work 2-3 cm apart and at different orientations. This would make finding a position for them on the door mechanism easier. Because the power lead for the switch is quite short (about 1.5m) I installed a socket l, running power from the switched spur that was already in place to power the garage door motor. (A much longer power lead would be better.) Next I installed the sensor. It has a nice long cable so there were many possible locations. I opted for the door runner and its frame as in the photo. The sensors are about 1.5cm apart when the door is closed and they work perfectly. Wiring the box into the door motor was easy. The Supramatic has a plastic cover that slides off to expose the external accessory connections. I simply connected the two wires from the opener switch in the spring loaded connections (you can find diagrams online for different makes/models). The motor housing has a rubber slot through which to route the wires. Last was to plug in the switch - it reconnected to the wifi almost immediately - and secure it and the wires with a tie-wrap. The switch appears in the app and it’s easy to control the door. It notifies me when the door is opened or closed, and if it’s been open for more than 15 mins. There are plenty of other settings to play with. I’ve connected it to HomeKit and it appears in Apple CarPlay, although I have found trying to use it through CarPlay a bit temperamental: when I press to open, there’s at best a lag and lack of feedback and at worst nothing happens. However, using the phone app it works every time. I wish that the device was available in the SmartLife (Tuya) app, but other than this and my other two minor points (CarPlay effectiveness and the power cable length) this is a great device and fantastic value for money.

Great value and easy setup
Absolutely brilliant. Setup is almost automatic, the physical installation was straight forward. The most difficult part was inserting the two wires into the connector for the garage door motor opener, perched on a step ladder with the power turned off trying to fit the wires into a slot already occupied by a wire, you need two pairs of hands and a torch. It connected to Alexa and Homelink automatically. Homelink will open and close door without further programming. Alex will close the door, but you do need to go to settings and setup a code to open the door, understandable as Homelink only works with your Apple appliance, however Alexa, assuming you have a unit in the garage, just needs a command.

Works Well... MOSTLY>>>
Right, so it opens and closed my garage doors fine. The problem comes when you might want to only partially open/close them OR if there's a problem and you need to stop them quickly. Well you can't... The app doesn't respond till after the 15 secs (time you set to tell it how long the doors take to open). I might have to play with timings, but still there's always going to be a delay.
