Is this an "hpl" light? the pictures show 3 types of lights; traditional, hl & hpl. however the description doesnt specify which this is

I believe that HL is when it is low power mode and HPL is when it is in high power mode. The width of the beam changes. It is probably the most powerful easy to use flashlight I have ever owned. It is capable of amazing penetration in dark woods. So many flashlights you just get a retinal reflection, this flashlight allows for pick up of the entire body shape. I really don’t know how far it will illuminate in hpl mode but I know it easily extends beyond 800’. I have actually used it in combination with binoculars.

Yes the battery is built inside. In fact, unlike some of their other products, I dont believe that it can be removed or replaced.

How far is the beam? in the q&a it says 300 ft but in reviews it says 30ft. i need something that will land brightly at 300ft

The beam will shine brightly (and tightly) well over 300 ft. 30ft must be a typo. This light can shine quite a distance. What the light does NOT do is have a wide spill; in other words, it does not light up a very wide area at great distances or even up close. Rather, the light beam is pretty tight and bright, allowing you to pour a good amount of lumens in a concentrated area (over a long distance). This is a great light.
