You: What's so bad about this hose? I mean, how bad can one of these hoses be?Me: BAD. Frustrating. Dysfunctional.Why, you ask? Because this hose does not function like other expandable hoses. I've owned quite a few (those of you that have owned them before know that they are not known for being long-lasting hoses). This one actually RETRACTS when you spray water from the nozzle. How? Goodness only knows. As soon as you stop spraying water, the hose expands again. So, you can get to about a count of 4 before you're gripping the hose and yanking it for dear life to keep it from retracting all the way back to the water spigot. It is incredibly frustrating and most certainly DOES NOT easily expand to 50'....even when you're not spraying water. So, take it from someone who has owned quite a few of these and move along. This is NOT the hose you're looking for!

Edit: after using a standard hose in comparison to this one, I need to change my review to 5 stars. This hose doesn't get tangled or crooked, it is a breeze in comparison to others.This hose looks funny at first but it is heavy duty and very durable. We've had 2 of these scrunchy styles hoses before, both of which cracked immediately. I'm hoping this one doesn't do the same! This hose appears short when not in use but once water stretches it, it becomes long. It's easy to manage and appears to be ready to hold up to the elements but we'll see!

This is a great hose so far. It is very light weight and expands a lot when water is on. The only concern I have is that the outside fabric catches on the sidewalk, so we will see how long it holds up. But so far it is perfect. When you turn the water off and drain all of the water out of the hose, it gets really short again for easy storage.

I bought this hose to water pots and plans around our yard. When you first turn it on with the spray nozzle shut it does expand quite a bit. However, as soon as you start spraying water from the nozzle the whole thing starts shrinking again. To the point that I'm having to hold onto the hose like a tug-of-war with the faucet. If I release the spray nozzle it will expand again and the water pressure builds back up. But as soon as I start watering the next pot it shrinks and the pressure goes down. I didn't see anything mentioning this in the other reviews so I thought it would be helpful to someone else. If you're counting on a full 50' hose while the water is flowing then this isn't going to work for you.

I purchased a 50-foot hose; however, it barely stretches up to 25 feet (I could have received the wrong item). When fully stretched to 25 feet, the water comes out excessively slow as if it were coming out of a tiny straw, rendering it useless. It feels very flimsy, not made to last and to stretch the hose and keep it lengthened while using, takes a significant amount of strength. Lastly, it leaks profusely at the faucet end. Perhaps if it were actually 50 feet (requiring less stretch) it might have worked; giving more water pressure, less leakage and requiring less strength to lengthen.

I am not a frequent user of gardening hose every day. This hose is effective, light weight and great for my purpose. It says it has great lasting quality, only time can tell. So far I have used it only for a month.

I waited to review this garden hose. It works great, it does not tangle upon itself and I am very pleased with this product. I most definitely have recommended to family members and I would order again. This hose is durable. In order to put this hose away after watering my garden and flowers I need to shut off the water at the spigot and keep the hose on at full tilt to empty the remaining water and it coils up beautifully.
