Works, looks, and mounts very well.
Well constructed with a couple mounting options make for an easy installation. Every port provides power which is handy. I have one in my home office and I recommend one for every Mac Pro installation. An aftermarket USB-C to USB-B cable makes it easy to use with a MacBook Pro or other modern PC laptop workstation setups. Data wise I've successfully used several keyboards and mice, USB memory drives, USB extenders, a Flirc IR adapter, and even a cellphone. It's also handy for charging or supplying power to USB devices. The only thing I don't like are how bright the LEDs are in a dark room. A little tape on the power supply solves it's LED. But it would be nice if there was a dimmer setting for the blue LEDs on the unit...or if they were amber, orange, or even red.

Excellent powered hub
This hub is well-built. I am running multiple external USB-powered hard drives with this, and there is no problem. Other hubs (including the house brand) have failed miserably with dismounts at inconvenient times and so on. It is made of metal so is very sturdy. One of the nice features is that every port is powered, so I can plug in my IPad into any free port and it will start charging. The main point, though, is that it is reliable. I plug something in, leave it there, and it just works.

Generally disappointed by this purchase, but still has some value.
I got my first desktop PC in a long time, and instead of having to mess with the USB ports on the device, I thought it wouldn't it be nice to have the ports more readily available on my desk. While it did fulfill its primary use case, it was not as effective as I expected it to be. For example, I found that plugging my keyboard and mouse into it was a bad idea, because the desktop would not recognize my keyboard and mouse input when it was asleep. I was able to remedy this situation by plugging the keyboard and mouse directly into the desktop computer, but that kind of defeated the point of the purchase. While it is still useful for other devices such as my headphones and controller, I don't think that would have been enough for me to make the purchase in the first place. I would look at other vendors or devices for my purposes if I had to do it over again.

Came as used or extremly bad QC by Vantec.
Came all covered with fingerprints and some white powder (???), usb cable right next to usb-b connector was folded and pressed down almost flat and been damaged inside since it drops signal constantly. Power adapter came in same condition and every time I've been trying to connect it to the hub, sparks came out from hub power port. Clearly fire hazard unit. Tho hub looks and feel as very sturdy and well designed one, with very useful mounting hardware, quality of product I received is way far away from what I've been expecting from brand new item, especially from Vantec. No idea if it's the new way Vantec selling it's product right now or bad luck and super bad QC and I've been sent used/returned/damaged item. Either way I am very disappointed.

Does the job, but functions details not clear
It works, its metal, appears rugged. Provides power. But some of the functionality is not clear. It is used in a recording studio, with a USB powered ADC (Focusrite Scarlet) So when the computer turns off or the USB 3 is disconnected, the scarlet turns off. I wish it didnt do that cause it sends a hum out to the monitors. More importantly, I was using an isolator on that ADC and it appears that the Vantec blew it out. Its odd. The isolator had a 1 kV rating. I dont know if there was an overcurrent from the Vantec dropping power into the isolator. But the good news is that the metal case and grounding really works, so the isolator doesnt appear necessary any more.

The Right Tool for Duplicating Flash Drives
I bought this for duplicating microSD cards in USB adapters for school classes. I had been using USB 2.0 gear before. With the right adapters and the freeware ImageUSB program, this is four times faster. (The right adapters are Transcend USB 3.0 SDHC / SDXC / microSDHC / SDXC Card Reader, TS-RDF5K, which write reliably in addition to reading. They're available from Amazon.) This hub is in a sturdy, all-metal case. There's no "wiggle" in the USB connectors. It doesn't get warm in use, although the adapters mentioned do. It comes with a 5 A power brick and all necessary cables. All ten ports can serve as powered data ports or charging ports, so it's also the right tool if you have a bunch of miscellaneous USB-connected gear. If I get a few bucks ahead, I may buy another and duplicate 20 cards at a time!

Plenty of power, sturdy construction.
So you need a USB hub? Maybe you're like me and run lots of external hard drives or perhaps you just like the cocky sense of superiority you get from having many unused USB ports? If you answered yes then this might be right up your alley. It is a nice solid feeling metal unit with a power brick and 2 prong plug. I had it powering 9 4tb external drives under simultaneous load with no problems. I have tried many hubs in the $15-$35 range that come with cheap power adapters but they couldn't power more that a few drives at a time and were still not reliable then. Its worth the bit extra in the long run. Trust me, I have a box full if defunct USB hubs that I trued to save a few bucks on. This one seems built to last and I will update if it dies on me. Imagine if there were a "God of Peripheral Outlets" and after a tough day at work he came home to no dinner and his wife was yelling at him, well this might be the kind of basic but sturdy hub he would build to cheer himself up. If its good enough for such a deity, then it should ve good enough for you.

Vantec USB Hubs Industrial 3.0 With 10 Ports Are Very Good USB Hubs : I use two of them connected each to a different TB4 USB 4 port on my Mac Studio with 5 G RAID Dual Drives on each Hubs Wow ! Each RAID have two port : one TB2 and one USB 3 but my new computer with TB 4 USB 4 dont accept the adaptor TB 2 TO TB 3 on TB 4 Ports and no compatible adaptors TB 2 to TB 4 exist and TB 4 Hubs Have not enough Ports to connect all drives even in daisy chain mode but Single HDD or RAID Dual HDD will never overflow any usb 3.0 ports or usb 3.0 hubs so i make the transition and save 16 HDD or RAIDS.

Busy ripping my video collection of DVD & Bluray titles to my PLEX server. Have 1 BDROM in workstation & 3 external BDROM & 9 external DVDRW. The old USB2 hubs I had didn’t provide sufficient power to the drives, so I had to use 2 USB ports / external drive. Bought this & hooked up on a USB 3.1 port on my workstation & plugged in its power adapter. This device is working well, providing power to 10 external drives.

Not impressed by the mounting ears, they are really thin and small. The holes for the screws are only slightly larger than the slots to slide on. It would be a lot better if the holes the mounting screws fit into were larger. It would be nice if a mounting template was included, along with a set of mounting screws and anchors. The included power supply is high quality, but it will not work bus-powered.

I’ve been using this hub for drives for chia, they all work and data works, I guess some people have problems. Love how it’s aluminum so if it gets hot it’s not catching fire... I am running external HDDs, started at position 1.. running 5 without issues, pretty happy, for sure on the expensive side!
