Jigetch JTL4020 Smart Passage Latch, Polished Chrome

Not quite that easy to fit
This is a much improved latch compared with the original where the latch would drop out after a couple of months. The major drawback is the latch itself does not retract fully into the back case therefore be very careful when fitting that when you close the door the latch has enough clearance to reopen the door, otherwise you'll be stranded and once fitted it cant be removed from the outside.Close the door from the flat side of the latch and if it won't open try a wallpaper scraper in the gap between door or frame pressd against the latch to prise the door open.My solution was to tap the latch body with a socket so it sat slightly further back in the door and that 2mm gave clearance to open.Time will be the decider on durability of this version. This review does not reflect this seller who supplied the latch to time and came well packaged.

Replacement to a failed latch
This was to replace one that had failed. I’ve given it 3 stars purely on the basis that the previous jig tech didn't last much more than a year and longevity has yet to be proven.

Fit in 5 mins
So easy to fit if you have the jigtech fitting kit only takes 5 min only draw back is you are limited to jigtech hardware

Read before purchasing Jigtch
So I spent a fortune on solid oak doors so I wanted to make sure I used the best hinges, handles and latches. I wanted this style because of it's small form factor. I bought 4 all identical in design or so I thought. It turns out when you have the different brands side by side it is clear obvious that the jigtech was much much higher build quality. I didn't use the jigtech fitting tool and had no issues fitting.I would highly recommend.
