Every time we go out to eat, my son (17m almost 18m old) takes our straws and bangs them on the table like drums. So I figured I’d get him an “actual” drum set. Let’s just say he LOVES this!!! I showed him how to use it one time, and now he’s obsessed with it. It sounds great, and it isn’t craaaazy loud like some toys I’ve seen lol, but honestly I don’t mind hearing his toys 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m just happy he’s happy. Nothing was missing in the package, and it was a great price in my opinion. If you’re thinking about getting a “starter” drum for your baby, get this!!

This little drum set is an absolute blast for toddlers! It has multiple game modes and plays catchy music that helps teach letters and numbers while they jam out. The light-up pads keep them engaged, and it's built tough enough to take a beating from enthusiastic little drummers. It's the perfect size for a playroom and a great way to encourage a love for music early on!

Cute drum set for toddler. The automatic constant background noise is kind of annoying, thankfully, it can be shut off. The drum sounds are realistic. It’s very easy to use. I love that there is a spot for the drumsticks to be stored! The sounds and lights being very interactive are fun as well.

Perfect for a two year old. Even Mom and Dad had fun with it!

As a retired music teacher, I love to give music related gifts! I purchased this drum set for my great-nephew’s 2nd birthday. It was the hit (pun intended!) gift of the party. All the little trucks, cars, and books were left in a pile and he grabbed his drum set and sticks and easily carried it off to a table, where he played it for 30 minutes non-stop (until his 4-year old brother came over and gave it a try, too!). The lights, the sound, and weight and shape of the sticks were perfect for both boys. His parents sent me a video several days later of both boys rocking on with this gift.

My almost 3 year old has really been into drumming lately. She had a music class for a month (that's how long it was) and Plum Pudding (from Strawberry Shortcake) is big into drumming as well (at least on the Jammin' with Cherry Jam movie). Since these two experiences, she finds anything to jam with and on. I thought she would love a little drum set. Yes, the size was smaller than expected but still perfect in a way. She loves it, and that is what matters! I read a review somewhere that disliked this set because there was background music. You can turn that off. You have to press the "free style" button and then the "music note symbol" (on the far right) until it is mute. =) I have also read a few posts stating that their little one may not be ready to to dangerous sticks and not catching on to the buttons. I am not trying to be judgmental or mean by any means but this toy is directed to 2 through 5 year olds, on average. It is all in the matter of the development level of the child. My almost 2 year old may not be ready for this toy because she still occasionally likes to put toys in her mouth and run. The age suggested is just an estimate but should not get poor reviews if the child is under the age suggestion as well as their development level. This shouldn't get poor reviews because of its size when that is in the dimensions, which should be read, especially with online shopping (I didn't read them either but I am also not going to give a poor review over something I should have done first). This is an amazing set (at least for the first day!). I have my room open while I type a review and normally she is sprinting in here (off limit room). But..she is more fascinated with her new toy. =)

The VTech KidiBeats Kids Drum Set is a great toy for little ones! It’s colorful, fun, and very engaging. My child loves tapping the drums and learning about music, numbers, and letters through the different play modes. The sound quality is good and the toy feels sturdy. Bought this for my 1 year old daughter, and it was easily her favourite Christmas gift, and is probably the toy she has taken to the best so far of anything we've tried. The sticks are padded at the head, so their relentless banging shouldn't worry you about anything breaking. It's simple to set up, simple to use, and you'll love watching your kid rock out on this. It is quite small, so I really would only suggest it for kids up to 2 or 3. Also, as far as I can tell, there is no volume control option on the toy, but the default volume is a very reasonable level, so I couldn't see it bothering even those with noise sensitivities.
