Cold white light unsuitable for camping (with kids!)
Lantern looked solid when unpacked until we tried to use the hook on the underside, which fell off immediately due to bad spring mechanism design which hardly holds it in place. The was no mention of the Kelvin temperatures for the light and so it was a great disappointment when we found the light blazing a bright white light even on the lower setting which was mostly unsuitable for the evening camping and when trying to get kids to sleep. Either warm light or addition of another setting that provides a warm or orange light would be a good compromise. This was the main reason for returning the product as we couldn’t use it at all whilst camping with our toddler as it was way too (white and) bright even if covered up with a dark cloth...

Bright, sturdy and a great battery life
I used several of these for a youth camp, for our large gala tent, which seated about 30 of us, plus tables. One of these on the medium setting could light the whole tent, two was pretty bright and with three of them on it felt like we had normal indoor lighting!I was worried they wouldn't last the whole week, so kept one back the first few days. However, they easily lasted the week, and on the last day we were even able to charge several phones off of them. The phones charged very quickly too.I'd highly recommend them; they're among some of my best purchases this summer!

This company’s service is amazing!.
I am more than pleased with this product. The light output is amazing. It’s a good size for the jobs that I need it for. Nice weight and is a good quality product.Ps I purchased two lanterns, of which one had a LED defect. I notified the seller. Within minutes I got a response and then got a replacement lantern sent back to me. Which I received within a couple of days. I am very happy and very pleased with the service I received from this seller. I give 10/10 for the service I received.

Everything I was looking for in an emergency latern.
After a power outage, I realized I could use an emergency laten. After lots of searching I decided I wanted a rechargeable latern. The Blazin Bolt looked promising for a couple of reasons. First its run time of 400 hours is twice as long as most of its competitors, due to the larger battery. Thats 50 days at 8 hours a day on low! Second, you can recharge your phone from the unit. Third it's a lithium battery.I had a couple of questions and contacted Peter (the self proclaimed "Master of customer happiness") to clarify. The standby time for the latern is one year, but Peter recommended recharging every six months. The blinking red light when the off is to help locate the unit in a blackout and not the battery low indicator. That battery status only shows when the unit is on. The unit is extremely bright and even on the lowest setting it puts out enough light to read by.

MAKE SURE TO USE ORIGINAL CABLE or GOOD CABLES!
i dont understand negative reviews “oh its not bright enough”.. well it clearly says “600 lumens” you know what your buying.... check out my picture.. it will light up any room, kitchen, living room, basement ect.... anything very very well.. yes maybe there are brighter lamps out there, but you gotta understand in an emergency those brighter ones take more power to charge and you dont know how long you will be with out power...after i ordered this light, i was thinking maybe 600 lumens kinda weak? aha.. after i got the light, its definitely an over kill.. plan to order 3-5 more.. light up the whole house in an emergency and im not worried about battery life.. i got a 100 watt solar panel and 5 huge 100ah batteries, i can recharge it not 1000000 times, but unlimited and plan to build up my small solar power box to run a fridge unlimited with an inverter.. yea im off topic but get a small deep cycle 35ah battery better than nothing.. you will recharge this light many many times, and your phone as well..the fact that you can charge your cellphone is awesome.. plug it in via usb and your golden!edit: make sure you use original cable (watch my video), or good quality cable.. my cheap cables are great for other things such as battery packs, no problem, but not this lamp.. this lamp likes good cables!yes these are very expensive and there are cheaper lamps that are also very amazing.. but you get what you pay for.. this lamp has 12,000mah battery built-in that will charge my iphone 6s many times from dead to full.. in an emergency i dont have time charging lamps every night vs other lamps that are only 500mah to 2,000mah battery capacity that will die quickee.. in an emergency ill focus on food, water.. not charging a lamp.. i already focused on that when the sun was shining.. good amazing lamp i got 2 of them.. planning to get more in near future!

Compact and bright, but does not include a wall charging adapter for recharging the unit
Just received my lanterns. Love the brightness of them. However, when arrived they both need to be charged as the indicator light is flashing red, which the instruction booklet states means the device has less than 10% power. That would have been just fine, but no wall charging unit is included. There is a short USB/microUSB wire, which could be used to hook up the unit to a computer for charging, but it would have been better to also include the wall adapter or at least include in the item description that one is not included with it so as to make a better informed choice.

It made it to 12 day
400 hours sounds insane. I'm curious to see if it stand up to its claim. So far I'm at 48 hrs on low setting and it's still working.Adding:Well from the photos I added it has made it over a week on a single charge do far. The lamp it fairly bright... It looks dim because of my cellphone flash. I'll keep it going to see if it makes it to 2 weeks. So far 11 days. 264 hours. That's longer then any competing lantern that I have seen. (200 hrs) but they claim 400 so I'm going to keep it going and see how much I can squeeze out in a single charge. And that's a wrap. It make it to 12 day on a single charge. Still good but not quite what was promised. But good enough to be a keeper.

OK, prefer removable batteries.
It's a decent lantern but I was disappointed to find that the battery was not really designed to be removable. I prefer the newer 18650 Lithium battery units that can all share these great sized batteries. This unit uses them but they are soldered up into a pack.

Wow - Top of the line!
This lantern is top of the line. All the other lanterns in the Bolt's class need D batteries, this one is rechargeable, which is an enormous benefit. I don't need extra batteries lying around, I don't spend ten bucks on bulky batteries and I can charge my phone or tablet to boot. I'm positive this lantern will make blackouts and camping easier and less complicated.Anyone who lives in a hurricane area like I do knows how important a high quality light is. You don't want to go through a multi-day power outage without good light. The cheaper rechargeable lanterns serve a purpose but they are in a different class. This lantern is considerably brighter and sturdier. Most importantly those smaller lanterns have about 7 hours of power, the Bolt lasts 10-20 times longer, which is the difference between one night of light and weeks of light. The specs are great. It has six modes, so I have the flexibility of the 400 lumen high setting which is really strong or I can use it on low as ambient light and have hundreds of hours of light in one charge. I charged my iPhone and tablet and barely put a dent on the battery level. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm almost excited for the next power outage.

Very bright
I got this after I lost power for a day due to a hurricane. I just didn't want to get a bunch of candles for safety reasons, and I didn't want to get flashlights which require batteries, which expire and may not even work in a hurricane. I set this up to see how it works, and it was great. It put out a lot of light. I'll at least be able to see in the next hurricane. I can charge it in my car if I lose power a long time.

GOOD DESIGN
RECHARGEABLE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. RECOMMENDED TO TOP OFF EVERY 6 MONTHS. NOW WE ARE A 4 BLAZIN" LANTERN HOUSE. THESE 2 NEW 600 LUMEN ARE GREAT. INITIAL LANTERN CHARGE WITH MY PHONE ADAPTOR TOOK OVERNIGHT, SO BE PATIENT. FASTER IF YOU USE THE LARGER IPAD CHARGE ADAPTER. THESE LED LANTERNS OFFER GREAT LIGHT AND ABILITY TO CHARGE YOUR PHONE WHEN POWER IS OUT. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU ALSO BUY A CHARGE ADAPTOR FROM YOUR APPLE, SAMSUNG, ETC. COMPANY SO YOU CAN PHONE CHARGE IN YOUR AUTO WHEN POWER IS OUT. BLAZIN' BISON IS NOT THE LEAST COSTLY BUT WORTH THE PRICE. YOU ARE WORTH IT TOO! SATISFIED CUSTOMER.

Good lantern. Quality feel
Good lantern. Quality feel. Will not go 400 hours on low. That is just not true. My test did have it run for 200 hours which is amazing. But the claim of 400 hours is just crazy.

Excellent illumination and battery life
I bought one of these a couple months ago, and have added a second one now. VERY bright light and long battery life...no regrets. Do have one small issue...the "G" hook fell off first time I went to use it. Apparently a small pin was missing from the spring loaded side. Not worth the trouble to return the whole lamp, but it would be great to get the pin or the whole assembly sent to me.UPDATE: Rather than send me a replacement part, seller sent me a complete new lantern. Amazing. BTW, seller ships directly and everything I've bought from them arrives in just a couple of days after order is entered.

Very nice light
This product is just as I expected - we needed an "emergency light" for power outages and such, as well as a light we could grab quickly and take outside at night with the dogs, or use on the deck when we have company. So far it seems to work great - holds a charge as expected - I like the multiple light levels, from dim to bright as well as flashing mode. Nice product - quick delivery - at a fair price for quality/usefulness of the light.

It is very nice. it has three brightness settings and a red ...
Just received my Lantern. It is very nice. it has three brightness settings and a red light setting l thought they were pretty good. The light is not big or bulky which is great. You can charge it by using any cellphone plug that you use to charge your phone. It comes with that usb attachment so you would connect the small end to the Lantern and the usb side to the plug. You don't have to use your computer/Laptop.Enjoy

A necessity in the mountains
I live in an area where the power is out constantly due to falling trees, crazy high winds, and heavy rains. My family typically can get by with just a couple of these lanterns. The day I bought them I plugged them in to get the charge up before use/storage but coincidentally the power went out after these had only charged about 5 hours and they worked fantastic already. I've now had to use these in about 6 power outages and couldn't find a single complaint. I haven't fully tested the 500 hour capability but I can tell you the power was out at my house for 5 days and 3 adults were able to use these on low setting to get around the house as well as charge cell phones and neither lantern was showing any sign of slowing down. They do seem a little pricey but they have been a life saver for me enough times now that they are more than worth it. They seem well built, are REALLY bright on the high setting and have more than enough battery life. Also as an FYI the low setting is more than bright enough to get anything done in a dark cabin such as ours

Good Basic Lamp - nothing fancy
Usabilty - good; has the settings as advertised; easy to use and charge. Structure - good; seems fairly sturdy though we have not put it through anything rough. Function - OK; ads a little deceptive: 400 hr run time is stated only for the lowest setting; running on brightest setting we have used it less than 20 hours and the charge lite is already on; cannot say if it would go 400 hrs on low. Light Quality - OK, I don't have a way to measure lumens, but the brightest setting is not stunning; it will light a tent sized space OK, not quite bright enough to read by comfortably. Price - not the best; for the price, could get two or three regular camping lanterns that have as good (or better) light. One plus factor - I expect the rechargable feature will be a savings over lanterns that require batteries. Overall - was expecting something a little more based on the ads and price; It is an OK lamp, but nothing special.

Excellent, but not the best in the field
These are very good but not the best products in the class. Most LED lanterns try to give you high lumens and a cold color temperature (CT) circa 4000-5000K. This may relate to efficiency but aesthetics is important too. Notwithstanding criticism leveled at the Kruthoff curve, warmer CT, circa 2,800K, closer to tungsten lamps, is demonstrably more natural and appealing in appearance than cold light at low light levels. So while these may work perfectly for camping, to use them indoors as emergency lighting, is aesthetically a bit off-putting. Being able to have one low color temperature option a user might access would raise these lanterns to frontrunner.
