Fruit of the Spirit (LifeGuide Bible Studies)

I love this book

After reading the reviews for this study I reluctantly decided to use it for our ladies group. I introduced it as bible study "light". Although the Q&A is brief we have had some very in depth discussion on each topic. You can make it worth your while if you have a mind to.

I love the Lifeguide Bible study books. I highly recommend them. Great for people that work and have little time to do homework/reading. You can do one chapter a week in just an hour. Fruit of the Spirit worked well for a group of working women (most with families) several years ago and now I have chosen this same guide to lead another group starting the end of this month. The group can pick from a long list of Lifeguide studies for their next study.

Glad to find this one here however needed 6 copies for a group study and had to order from six different seller.5 of the books came in different days within two weeks from the order. Got refund for the one that did not arrive.Did not like the feeling that I had to check the mail box everyday. I did reorder the one last one from a different seller. It arrived within a few days. The book were new and in good condition. Overall happy with the book and frustrated with the waiting. My Sunday School class of 15 women of various ages really enjoyed this study. it lead us to really processing the fruits of the spirit we felt we already had and how to improve on those areas needing improvement. We took 10 weeks for the study as it generated so much discussion .

As advertised

Not what I expected, for sure. Some of the introductions seem irrelevent. For instance: Chapter 2, Joy - "Roller coasters. Great sex. The birth of a baby. Surprise party. When we hear the word joy we are likely to connect it with special events." Really?! Great Sex!! It is either beyond joy or a surprise. I need to do more background study to lead our Bible study or we would be finished in 1/2 hour. Usually appreciate the Lifeguide studies. This one is a disappointment.

Bought a copy of this book to show our teachers as an example of small-book studies. Well received, will probably buy multiple copies for our classes. Good work.

This is a mix of good and disappointing. There are some good questions, but there are some confused impressions of who God is; in the questions relating to forgiveness the author is careless and clumsy: suggesting we disregard our feelings and forgive anyway. Not how it works. There are also extra passages to look up once each section is over which just feels taxing and burdensome. Confusing when it should all be leading to clarity and the joy of discovering the fruits of the spirit.

This study guide is good at helping a small group to think through the different fruits of the spirit using a different Bible passage each study. Our young mums group has used many of the Lifebuilder studies over the years and this one is not as good at opening up the discussion as others have been. Lots of the questions are straightforward answers with only a couple of more open questions at the end. Usually our studies take about an hour, but with this book we complete the study in 40mins.Lifebuilder studies are a great way to be able to lead a study without so much preparation, as the questions are already thought out for you. We encourage members of the group to take turns to try leading a study, even if they have never led before, because most of the work is done by having the questions there (and sometimes helpful answers at the back).

A good study guide to the fruit of the Spirit which we all have when we become Christians. It may be in seed form and developing slowly but surely examining these passages is a start at looking at the fruit as revealed in some instances in the scripture.

This booklet was sold as being in "very good" condition, but in fact had biro writing on most of the pages, which rendered it impossible to enjoy. Nothing wrong with Hazel Offner's writing, just the seller.

Terrible book, the studies don't seem to relate to the chosen subject.
