Good product with bad instructions, so read below
As of March 2019, I find this to be the best in class product on Amazon. I researched many other similar lamps and they all lack one thing or another. I was looking for a set of rechargeable wardrobe lamps with a motion sensor to go on and off on its own. This product won because of the following features, not found all together in any other products I searched: 1. Relatively high light output for the size - many others have misleading zoomed-in images and may be good for a single drawer only 2. The color of light is 3000K, which is warm natural light - the other lamps offer 5000K or 6000K, which makes you look like a dead body. 3. Occupancy sensors work well, BUT remember those lights have also a light sensor, which turns the light on ONLY if it's dark around it and stops it in about 20 seconds if no motion is further detected. This may confuse you, as you initially try the lights - they will refuse to start on AUTO light/motion detection mode. It is because you likely test them in a bright place. If you want to make the lights go on regardless of the surrounding light level (being day or night), just put a dark sticker over the light sensor (the second one). I've put a tiny strip of masking tape over the sensor and made it black. I put this review here because the product deserves it. The instruction page that came with the product is very confusing and it failed to warn that auto mode requires darkness to be tested and the product is not defective and with a sticker hack described above, can make the lamp to respond to a motion, but not to light. All the wardrobes in our house will receive this nice upgrade.

We love this light!
Bought for, and currently being used in a pantry closet. I read through the useful reviews and bought it based on the sane, measured, reasonable responses. I'm not disappointed. If used correctly, and your expectations are clear, this is a great solution to your darkness problems. First of all, excellent illumination. Second, easy to install. Third, USB rechargeable... no more batteries! Now, onto the usage. Let me note that another reviewer posted that he/she had trouble at first - with the motion detection - until they used a small bit of electrical tape to cover the light sensor. This unit is designed to not turn on if the ambient light detected is greater than 10 lux. That's not much light, and I personally don't understand the use for that particular sensor. At the very least, it should be switchable, but it's not. The solution is to simply cut out a piece of dark tape, and cover the light sensor... as mentioned previously. (This, of course, unless you intend to use this light in a cave, or a 100% dark area) . BAM! Problem solved. We now open the pantry closet and "Viola! light! Shut the door and... BAM! 20 seconds later, the light miraculously shuts off! I would definitely buy it again, but I only had one dark closet, and now I don't. P. S.: The motion detector is the key to the usefulness and functionality of this product. It is almost perfect for any application. If you can properly install a new roll of toilet paper, you can install and use this light. BAM!

Second Purchase they work so well
Very easy to install (used the tape feature). Nice and bright. Occasionally it automatically go on when the doors are opened and I have to cover an uncover (with my hand) the sensor. Not a deal breaker. My first purchase was for an enclosed cabinet holding a wireless printer...was dark and hard to see to turn on/off and change ink. This solved that problem. This unit was for under the kitchen sink so I can check for leaks and find something from the myriad of stuff under the sink.

Excellent value, bright light, convenient mounting
Perfect for illuminating closets, dark nooks, etc. anywhere you need more light. Ordered this and it’s been the best solution for our closet that didn’t have a light fixture. Here’s what I love about it: * Rechargable - no batteries to purchase, just recharge when it gets dim. Very long-lasting battery depending on how frequently it’s used. * Brightness - very bright! Illuminated a large dark closet with plenty of light. * Installation - you can mount it with wall screws if you need a more permanent sturdy option, but the stick-on magnetic strip works great and makes it easy when you need to remove it to recharge. Just snaps in and out of the holder and the magnet is strong enough to withstand the occasional bump. * Sensor - the automatic motion sensor works very well and has a wide field of “view.” This is not a con, but be aware the motions sensor works best in a dark place with no motion. For example a closed dark closet is perfect, the door opens and the light pops on right away. But note that if it’s an already somewhat lit area and it detects people waking by regularly, such as a hallway, it may have some trouble. For example If you test it in a lot room, the motion sensor doesn’t really work. Best for use in an enclosed dark space. Overall this light has been exactly what I was looking for.

Very nice color light in a closet.
I put two of these above the sliding doors in a shallow 12' long closet for my wife. I did try a couple less expensive brand which gave off great light however the color of those washed out the color of the clothing inside the closet making it difficult to tell the difference between some colors. As soon as I put these two up what a difference. Very natural lighting makes it easy to see colors as you would expect to. Easy to install and seems that they will hold a charge for a respectable amount of time. I install them about two months ago after giving them a full charge and they are still as bright as the first day. She opens her closet probably three times a day for a min or two. The motion sensors work well and do auto shut off after about 20 seconds, if you need more time you just raise your hand. I blocked off the light sensor which would prevent them from turning on if the room had enough light from external sources only because I didn't thinks battery life would be an issue and didn't need the wife to complain bout it. Just used a small piece of black tape to cover the light sensor. Overall I'm very happy (probably because the wife is happy) I honestly don't know why I waited so long to do such a simple upgrade that makes such a big difference.

The motion detection does not work properly
To be brief: The light is very nice and bright and works well on the "on" position. It is very easy to install. You can easily remove the light for charging or use as a light wand. The light unit sticks well to the magnetic strip. The big problem is the Motion detection. It does NOT detect motion or heat! It stays on for a few seconds and shuts off and you have to literally hold you hand over the sensor and physically touch the sensor to activate it. Each time it cuts back off within about 10 seconds. I ordered two units and had to return them. They quickly sent me another two units (kudos for fast turn around). The second set of units did the same thing. I also had purchased a different type of unit (Goodland 160 LED closet light) and the sensor works great and will turn on when you are several feet away. If you don't mind having to reach up and turn it on and off - then it is a decent product but don't count on the motion sensor working... They may have a bad batch of motion sensors - and I got all the lemons in the batch.

Great solution for hall closets
We have several closets in a hallway that is well lit, but the lights are recessed and 14 feet up. Seeing anything in the closets, even with the hall lights on, can be a challenge. I've tried several types of stick-on lights but they aren't usually bright enough, they don't have a wide enough beam to show much, they look silly, the batteries run out, and there's nowhere good to mount them. These lights are almost perfect. I have them mounted to the top of the doorframe just inside the door (on the thicker part the door fits up against). I thought they would stick out awkwardly there but it doesn't bother me and it allows more light to reach under shelves. I wiped the area with alcohol and stuck the magnetic strip to it. After charging the light, I stuck it to the strip and it has stayed strong and steady for a few months. The motion detection turns them on when the door is opened, keeps them on while someone is standing g there, and turns the lights off a few seconds after closing the door. I have used one closet in particular a lot and the battery is still going without a recharge, but it won't be a problem when I need to do it. The one problem I have is what other reviewers mentioned: if I open the door but the light doesn't think it's dark enough to be needed, it might not turn on. We seem to have different opinions on how much light is needed in a dark coat closet. But, as others have also mentioned, a little electrical tape over the light sensor (the small circle next to the large white dome), and the light bar always thinks it is pitch black and therefore always agrees that I need some light. I bought one, tried it out, loved it, and bought two more. This is easily my wife's favorite "home improvement" project I've done. It cost far less time and money than pretty much any other project. I'm not sure what that says about me, but I'll be happy about my wife being happy any day.

Update to Prior Review: Does not hold a charge long enough
Since our initial review of this product shortly after buying it in January 2021, we have discovered that the issues regarding the limited time the product holds a charge has gotten worse. Now, of the 4 units we bought, only one holds a charge for 4 o5 5 days. 1 holds a charge for only about a day. The other two are somewhere between the shortest and longest. This is very disappointing. But for this issue, we'd be satisfied with the product. As it is, we would not buy them again and would not recommend anyone purchase them unless they planned on having them plugged into a charger around the clock. Prior review when given a three start rating: We like nearly everything about this light except the fact that it does not hold a charge long enough. Invariably, they have to be charged every 4 or 5 days. They are bright and extremely easy to install. There motion detection is generally good. If they held a charge longer, they'd rate a 4 to 5. We use them as undercabinet lights in the kitchen.
