Good deal
Got exactly what i expected. Has 6 ram chips and a total of 24 ram slots. Everything works. Didn’t have any password or user data issues. Drives tested as good. Currently running my 16 player Enshrouded game server. Fans are noisy but that is expected. All together is a good value.

Great Product, Better Service!
Ordered this up as a server for my small business. I had a few old desktops and laptops that were set up running various software, (security, VMS, record keeping, etc), but I wanted to declutter and set up a central server on a budget. This server fit the bill perfectly, while allowing me to configure RAID for redundancy on my system. TL;DNR: Sent server of different specs, got response and replacement super fast, server runs great! I placed my order, but was originally shipped an incorrect spec server. Incorrect CPU's, RAM, and HDD's. The one I received was damaged on one of the mounting ears as well. I snapped a few pics and sent the seller a message. I was surprised to see that I had received a response within the hour! After going back and forth for a couple hours (due to my business load, NOT due to a lack of response on their end), in more of a chat environment than an email environment, we determined that the item I was shipped was a completely different SKU, and I had a return label in minutes. They shipped out my replacement very quickly. I asked about purchasing a couple extra sticks of RAM (can never have too much), and they included a couple extra sticks of RAM at no charge to make up for the hassle! I have the server up and running now. everything works great! I would have liked to have RAID5 as opposed to RAID 1+0, but I'm happy with redundancy either way. I installed a low cost graphics card to have HDMI support and 1080p resolution, which worked perfectly. I tried to install a PCIe WIFI 6 card, but for some reason I couldn't get that to be recognized at all by the motherboard, bios, or Windows 10 Pro. Not sure if the other PCIe slot in the server is dead, or I received a dud card, but I sent it back and ordered a USB 3.0 PCIe card to try. If this doesn't work, then I'll assume the PCIe slot on the motherboard or riser is dead, and contact the seller again, but I have no doubts that they will get it taken care of!

Good deal if you know what you are getting
I got this server to use as a virtualization/container Linux server. It works well. There are a few things you should know, however. The device has 8 hotswap bays. If you intend to use all of them, do a custom order or otherwise somehow acquire the extra caddies. They are 2.5" bays, meaning laptop-drive (about 9mm high) size. Be careful, because Amazon sells some 2.5" drives that are taller than laptop drives (15mm high) and those won't work. Next, the bays can only take up to 2TB drives. The RAID controller on the device has no official option to do HBA/JBOD, only RAID. There is a way around that however, there is a Linux command-line tool HP Smart Storage Admin CLI (ssacli) that can be installed, then issue the commmand "ssacli controller slot=0 modify hbamode=on" as root and then your drives will show up individually on the machine (warning, if you do this, you cannot boot from any of those drives. You have to use the USB or SD.) As just mentioned, the machine also has an internal SD card slot and USB port, so you can put your OS on one of those and free up all the drive bays for your RAID. The USB is USB 2.0 so don't expect it to be fast, but it's good enough for a Linux server IMO. I deducted one star because, if you use non-HP components in the system (all my drives are non-HP), the fans are forced to 100% speed and it is LOUD! There is NO way to change this except by installing a hacked ilo firmware, which is terrifying on its own but can even brick your server if you mess it up. If you're putting this server somewhere where the sound won't bother you and don't mind the 2TB drive limit, it is a perfectly usable machine, despite its age.

This seller has been aggressively trying to push outside sales
This seller has been aggressively trying to push outside sales. They offered the same server but a gen 9 for 925.00. I literally blocked their email and calls. Shortly after purchase I upgraded the memory. I was getting errors galore. After several weeks or troubleshooting I tried new processors. Same errors with the banks I was populating. I checked processor pins and seen that one had been bent. I was able to bend it and the new processors worked along with all the memory banks.

Good deal and option for personal use
I don't reviews but this purchase warrants one. Ordered the product and was given a 2 week lead time. Server was delivered on Saturday just days after ordering. Give the seller and UPS both kudos on that. The packaging was good enough and held up. The box was double banded to support the ends of the box. Otherwise the package was just fine. For the server itself everything was flawless considering that its a used server. I did have one minor issue and honestly its trivial but at the same time I purchased a given product. I had one bad stick of memory. I went through the normal process of re-seating the stick a couple times and cleaning the contacts. still had intermittent fault codes. then I swapped the channel and the fault code followed the stick. Contacted the reseller on Sunday and within the hour we had a resolution to the situation. Everyone was polite and professional . I recommend them as a supplier.

Goods & Bads
I have purchased this server before from the Amazon Renewed Store before (twice in fact) and this time I ran into issues. Before I dive into them, I feel I should point out the "Goods" and "Bads" about this product. Goods: - Cheap! (Great Home/Lab Server) - Works! My previous purchases were about a year ago and are pretty solid. Only had an issue with a Fan that died on me about 6 months in but not a big deal as these are REFURBISHED and expect some wear and tear (Hint...would be great if Seller also sells replacement parts) Bads: - Shipping. HUGE Delay in shipping this. Ordered on 9/11, "expected 9/15 - 9/20", received 9/27. Not going to fault the seller too much on this since there's no way of knowing about any issues during shipment but if it's been a week and the product still hasn't arrived, that would prompt my Customer Service team to reach out. - Operating System. Many may disagree with me on this but WHY is there an OS installed on this Server? Should be shipped blanked with no OS installed and no RAID setup (if the end-user can't do this then they should either practice on setting it up or returning it). - iLO Pasword - Not the default password as stated on the Server and the "800" number they give you to text for the password doesn't provide the correct one. Why is this changed? You would want this as FACTORY default as you possibly can. Overall 3 out of 5. Despite the issues I ran into this time, I would probably buy again if I need a cheap server.

I'm happy
Massive box, server was suspended in air pillows and well protected. Being my first server, I honestly wasn't prepared for how big this thing is. I have no dings, dents, or other damage inside or out. It looks damn near new. It took longer for me to download Ubuntu 22 server and setup a bootable USB last night than it did to get it installed today. I plugged my wireless keyboard into the front USB closest to the power button, and the USB drive into the port directly to the left of that. Power it up, and leave it alone untill the GRUB menu shows up. Mine has 2650 V2 processors rather than the 2670s. They still run at 2.6ghz and are in the same class as the 2670 though so I'm fine with this. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with 96G of RAM... I got a single 600G drive and 1 tray vs 2 300G drives and 2 trays. If I could do 4.75 stars I would, as realistically this isn't a deal breaker, more of an inconvenience than anything as I was kinda looking forward to playing with raid. Overall I'm happy, if I had to go back and decide whether to buy this knowing what I know now, I absolutely would. Edit -- After playing with this for awhile, and looking around more, I think they deserve the 5th star.
