Hopkins Towing Solutions 48480 Endurance 7-Way Tow Vehicle End Socket

I purcahsed this to add braking connection to my work truck for a new 10,000# trailer. It has performed well, was easy to install, and is durable (except when my truck slid back-first down a steep hill and was stopped by the hitch & socket!) I used a very generous amount of electrical contact jelly on the wiring connections, as well as sealing the wiring entrance with silicone caulk, all because of the very corrosive snow melt used here in Western PA winters. I doubt that you would find a better socket at 3 x the price.

Excellent I have used it before

This unit has a very nice look to it, and it feels at least as solid as most OEM units, maybe more so. Nice wire connections and a separate plug design to minimize the elements taking a toll on the connections. It is a bit heavy, so a couple screws in a plastic bumper cover probably won't be enough. I got a couple self-tapping screws and went up into metal to be same.

This was a great price and very easy to install with the existing wiring. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the plate you mount it on is really flimsy, so if you don't have a hole in your bumper for this kind of attachment like I don't, then it's a pain to install (didn't come with screws for the plate) and I'm not sure how well it will hold up. The plug worked fine though.

Got this to replace a damaged 7-pin on my Tacoma. We relocated it to a spot above the bumper, which was easy - just use a hole saw for a 2" hole. Installation was quick and easy, and everything on my RV functioned perfectly when hitched. I like the little tab on the flip cover that secures the plug, too. Even looks great!

This was a replacement for one I had installed in my truck about 15 years ago, and this time the terminals were nicely labeled so you could have confidence when attaching the wires. HOWEVER, the picture on the product info was/is NOT AS CLEAR as that on my previous unit, as it does NOT SHOW the back of the socket and terminals as clearly ... so follow the markings. Is nice that they also supply some dielectric grease to coat the connections.

I don't use trailers too often and needed to rewire my own. This receptacle is certainly top quality although I don't have other products to compare this to. I'm way, way impressed.

I used this plug to replace one that put in place my the previous owner. It looks great, has a good fit/finish, and I'm overall very happy with it.For Superduty owners (or anyone that can use the tip), I drilled a hole in the center of the mounting bracket, put a long 5/16" bolt with washers through, and used lock nuts to lower the mounting height of the bracket in order to clear the lip under my bumper. Worked like a charm.

Works great and easy to mount though I did buy 4 teflon locking nuts to ensure mounting stability. The supplied nuts and washers seemed cheap and I wanted to not worry about it.

Only issue I had with this, was the size of the terminal connections, they are too small for the wires for Ground, Power and Electric Brakes.

Good product, heavy duty

Works as expected. Have not seen it through a winter, where corrosion is the biggest culprit of failure.
