Wow these produce a lot of light. I bought these to replace 32W flourescent. On paper, the lumens are similar but in practice the LEDs are MUCH brighter because *all* the light is directed in a cone downward, rather than radiating omnidirectionally. The color (5000K) is nice and clean. Had to remove the ballasts from the fixtures, of course. Easy enough once you figure out the first one. I replaced 3 bulbs in each of 3 fixtures in my garage. I used seven single row LED 2400 lumen bulbs, supplemented with these 3400 lumen double-row LED bulbs in two places were I wanted even more light. It's really a lot of light. I was expecting the LED bulbs to run completely cool. They actually heat up a fair bit, presumably due to the aggregate current dissipation. It's still highly efficient and practical. I guess however there's some thermal loss in both the wires and the LEDs themselves.

Fluorescent fixture in our utility went on the blink recently. Light would dim then slowly return to normal level. I suspected a bad ballast and, sure enough, after swapping some extra bulbs I had, it was a bad ballast. These new LED bulbs require removing the ballast, which was ideal for my situation. Since this fixture was a little fancier than a standard shop light, my wife wanted to keep this fixture if we could. New bulbs are bright, easy to install, and my experience with LED bulbs makes this a great purchase.

Very nice, brighten the room more

I used these as replacement in some old fixtures I wasn't ready to replace yet. Thought this would be a good option. The first one that went in was really dim. When the 2nd tube was placed in the fixture both lit up well. I was happy with the overall light output but keep in mind you have to replace both tubes. If you only replace 1 it will be very dim output. I will be get more for a few more fixtures.

It was cheaper to buy these than replace the ballast on the fluorescent lights in my garage. I'm very pleased with these. They are far brighter than the old bulbs and use less energy to boot.

To replace existing florescent tubes, you do need to re-wire the fixture as described in the product description and in the instructions provided with the lamps. I actually found re-wiring the fixtures to be easy but only rated the "Easy to install" at 3 stars because not everyone would be comfortable doing that themselves. Snip a few wires, connect some others with wire nuts and everything is ready. I specifically chose bulbs of 5000K color to provide a bright white light. I have now replaced all of the florescent lights in my home with LED bulbs and packed up all of my old florescent bulbs for recycling.

I had one burn out already , it was 3 days old
