High quality parts, check note below on water pump
High quality parts. Car runs again! Timing belt fit was good and the rollers all felt nice. Note, the water pump in this kit is front mount thermostat housing. My car is a 2004 forester with the EJ253 and it had a bottom mount. I had to go to the wrecking yard to make it work but it was easy to do. Check your mounting position if you don’t want to have to do that!

Perfect parts
This timing belt replacement was easier than I thought. I followed along slowly, watching Mr. Subaru1387's YouTube video. You'll need the necessary tools. All parts are Japanese. I recommend replacing the hoses as well. In my case, the hose connection to the radiator was worn, so I replaced it at the same time.

Seemed a daunting task, but very doable diy.
2011 Subaru Outback 2.5 102,000 miles. Recently handed this car off to our college-bound son. Had the brakes done, new tires, oil changed, wheel alignment. All done at local shops. Looked at the recommended service items, of which one was timing belt replacement. Called a few local shops, and the figures they were quoting were ridiculous. I had one say $2500!!! Did some online sleuthing, and discovered that the timing belt change (plus water pump) seemed to not be out of my capabilities. I have a decent collection of tools, and decided to go for it myself. A decent torque wrench and metric socket set is essential. There is a YouTube channel called MrSubaru, and this guy gives pretty clear instruction on how to do this. This Aisin kit is pretty much what is recommended for Subarus. The parts are Japan quality. Took me a number of hours to do this, but if I had to do it again I think I could probably do it in an hour, maybe 2. Car runs great, and should be set for another 100,000 miles. I also replaced the serpentine belt while doing this, as it needs to be removed anyway during the procedure. You’ll also need to get the Subaru coolant if you replace the water pump (why not, it’s in the kit!). I bought 2 gallons here on Amazon. Good luck.

Best avail parts for Subaru timing belt
Aisin are the best parts available for 2012 Subaru Outback timing belt diy. Tools required for the job include: Metric socket set(deep is good) 22mm (crank bolt) socket Metric set of box wrenches crank bolt wrench (avail on amazon for $21) Big drain pan for coolant drain Spill proof funnel to add coolant (Amazon $20) UPDATE: Milwaukee cordless ratchet help immensely on install in my 2nd Subaru, adding to must have tools list. Milwaukee 2457-20 M12 Cordless 3/8" Sub-Compact 35 ft-Lbs 250 RPM Ratchet w/ Variable Speed Trigger (Battery Not Included, Power Tool Only) $98 -Hone depot sells the m12 1/2” drill with same batt for $99. Optional tools (not req’d but good to have) Wrench to remove coolant tube clamps Cordless ratchet wrench Service is due at 105k mi and should not be neglected, timing belt failure is the easiest way to ruin an engine. The timing belt service is good time to complete several other maintenance tasks, the parts required include: Aisin timing belt package Subaru brand thermostat (cheaper at dealer) 2 jugs of coolant (cheaper to buy at local dealer) Spark plugs (bought at dealer) Snake belt( (Amazon) Air filter (Amazon) Cabin filter (Amazon) Pour Pepsi on battery if corrosion is present Recommend you watch youtuber MrSubaru (guy with long beard) his videos are fantastic. His videos Made the job much easier as he provides the proper torque for all bolts. Personal recommend using torque wrench as the bolt tightness was never as I expected and would have been wrong if done by hand. Instructions included with the belt were not the best and actually created confusion on more than one occasion. Job took me 7 hours to complete with slightly better than avg mech skills and no real trouble. Could be done faster but took my time #dadjoke UPDATE: Just installed a second TFK-006 timing belt on my 2010 Forester 2.5 non-turbo and the parts have the same top quality. True 5 star product.

Low quality
I installed this kit on a 2008 Subaru. It’s got just over 6,000 miles on it and the water pump is now leaking from the weep hole already. Not pleased at all.

Perfect kit installed no problem. Comes with instructions that list all the torque values and belt routing. Good quality Japanese bearings. Take note: there is one idler pulley that looked different from the OEM. It’s the cogged roller next to the water pump. It’s just a slightly different design but the dimensions are the same. It confused me for a few minutes but it’s even mentioned in the instructions. It works perfectly just make sure you put it on the right way. Overall great kit and I’d definitely recommend it or buy it again.
