Scotts MossEx 3-in-1 Ready Spray - Hose-End Applicator, Kills Moss, Algae and Lichens, Fast Acting Moss Killer for Lawns, Roofs, Patios, 32 fl. oz.

Used this stuff on a 16' x 12' screen porch roof to make my insurance company happy. (Even though the porch will be coming down and be rebuilt.) Yeah, it was pretty mossy. This moss killer works. I used it pretty liberally coverage-wise. Everything went brown and sort of dried up. I then used a hose spray and a broom to get the dead stuff off. Insurance company was then happy.

Product empties extremely fast and thereby does not cover as much area as you would expect. Keep and eye on the side where you can see the liquid levels. But I only needed this on some small moss spots in my lawn and all the moss turned yellow the next day and is starting to turn brown and die within a week, and the grass is still green. So this worked out for me. Also, the hose end sprayer is not intended to be refillable. It is not threaded and cannot be twisted off. But with a flat head screwdriver you can pry the locking tabs to open it up and refill it. I chose to refill it with liquid lawn fertilizer and still works without leaks.

We have a VersaCourt Tennis court and after spring and now heavy rainfall lots of moss. You need a garden hose to spread the spray, but it's easy to attach and the switch built into the container works perfectly. It take up to 3 days for the moss to turn brown. Once brown, the moss is clearly dead. It might need less than three days if it didn't rain every day. It ain't cheap, and perhaps ferrous sulfate a cheaper product might work as well but we were reluctant to try it on the plastic tile surface as the instructions on the product say it's for lawns not hard surfaces.

Absolutely worthless! Followed instructions exactly and this spray did nothing!

Used two bottles, but liverwort is still there. Initial spray did manage to kill some, but not all. Second bottle wasn't much better. Gonna try something else.

This did the job, killing a patch of moss. Scott says it won't hurt your plants, so I trust them. So far, so good. It does dispense quickly... maybe 2-3 minutes total, so I probably put it on thicker than I needed to. 1 month later, I need to order more.

I bought the first bottle of in April 2024 and tried it on a bachyard walkway that was shaded and stayed damp after trying A copper based produce that didn’t work well and stained the walkway (I was warned by the mfg. instructions that it would stain but I didn’t realize how permanently). Read about this one and decided to try it also being warned in the mfg instructions that repeated applications might be necessary. I ordered two more bottles in May 24, used them both one week apart and still haven’t solved my moss problem. What did surprise me was the way the application nozzle in the bottle shot out a very irregular spray pattern making it difficult gor me to control where the spray went. The entire bottle empties a whole lot faster than I liked (really fast, in my opinion) limiting the area that I could spray before emptying. The abutting landscape that I didn’t manage to keep the spray off if did not react well either. Not going to try the fourth bottle.
