LAMY Safari Ballpoint Pen - Model 217

I purchased this pen for 2 reasons: 1. It's German 2. It's Stylish I take this pen into my office everyday and no one compliments me, but I silently judge all of them for not noticing the sleek perfect craftsmanship of my pen. They don't recognize the distinct effort and curation on my part to select the fanciest of utilitarian items for my desk, but I know that I am superior in this way. The other reasons were hopes that it would be comfortable, reliable, and long lasting. Even the box exudes eccentric German design, letting you know you've purchased a very special pen. I've used these pens before but I always loose them per my fault. This pen is great for non-artistic writing and note taking. I find the hard plastic body especially comfortable in my hands as I have a very firm grip and often press hard on the paper. You can't go wrong with this, it's a luxury pen you can afford.

I write a lot for work and journal as well. I’ve tried many pens but most of the time my hand cramps up because the pen is either too heavy or too thin. This one hits the best for both. It’s light weight and not very thin at all. I like the triangular rip too. It really helps. I’m up in the air about gel pens so this being a ball point is what i definitely like. Refills don’t seem expensive at all. Not sure if I can get a refill at the big box office stores but plenty of selection here on Amazon.

Though unorthodox in design, this pen seems durable and writes reliably. The click mechanism is solid, but the wide clip isn't too strong. The pen is wide enough to hold comfortably and the surface sports a smooth finish. The body is built from ABS plastic, the same material used to make LEGO bricks. That being said, it is very sturdy. It is, however, a bit light for its size, which makes it convenient to carry around. The pen writes smoothly and the ink does not skip. The Lamy Safari isn't the prettiest pen out there, but it sure gets the job done.

This Lamy model is my GoTo model and I really enjoy the pen.

LAMI is a fine product that sits nicely in the hand. It's soft comfortable and a joy to write with. I've got four at various places in the house. My only suggestion is LAMI should offer a choice of refills it comes with. LAMI ships their pens with Medium refill however, I like Fine tips, so I buy the pens and then I buy Black Fine refills. It's extra cost but LAMI is worth it..

Recebi a caneta em um pacotinho plástico "mequetrefe" e imaginava que receberia pelo menos em uma caixa ou algo mais "nobre" do que esta coisa precária. A caneta não tem NENHUM identificação de ser uma Lamy e acho que comprei "gato por lebre"!! Cuidado com este vendedor!

Absolutely loved this pen while it was in my possession. Great flow and feel. Unfortunately someone else liked my pen so much, they simply took it. Gottah love them pen thieves

Not at all. It just faded away in 30mins time and kids have to change pens in the middle of exams. Very very bad

Der Lamy safari Kugelschreiber ist für mich ein echter Klassiker. Das Design wirkt modern und gleichzeitig vertraut, was direkt ein wenig Nostalgie aufkommen lässt. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, wie man es von Lamy kennt. Der Stift liegt gut in der Hand und eignet sich sowohl für längeres Schreiben als auch für den Alltag im Büro. Das Schreibgefühl ist angenehm und gleichmäßig, die Tinte fließt sauber ohne Aussetzer. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden. Ein zeitloser Kugelschreiber, der Qualität und Design gelungen verbindet.
