Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, 4th edition

A very useful resource for teachers of English as a second or foreign language.
Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language is edited by Marianne Celce-Murcia, Donna M. Grinton, David Bohlke and Marguerite Ann Snow. It is the fourth edition of the book and a comprehensive guide to this subject. The book is divided into six units with the following titles:1. Foundations of Methodology2. Language Skills3. Skills for teachers4. Integrated approaches5. Focus on the learner6. Focus on the teacherEach unit contains a number of articles by various authors. In all, the book provides a valuable reference volume to any teacher who wants to understand how to teach English better to those for whom English is not their native language. As a teacher of this subject myself, I find it particularly helpful in many ways.

TEFL SAY WHAT!!!
I'm currently taking a course via online and wanted a book to help me think of some ideas and get a better perspective on what teaching English is really like. Although I found many YouTube videos which were great nothing has been better than sinking my teeth into this book. Again, I got this simply for a better understanding, it was not required. Came on time and in perfect condition.

Revised Review | Quick Resolution of Issue | Recommend
I wrote this Seller when the initial book I received arrived damaged and they took immediate measures to resolve the issue for me without asking. They were respectful and thorough in the options available to resolve my issue. My confidence is restored with their company and I would genuinely recommend them moving forward as well. Thank you for being professional, sincere, and kind throughout the process.

A Key Resource for ESL, But Be Ready to Power Through
A must-read for anyone in the ESL field. It's likely required reading, so you’ll need it for your schoolwork. That said, it’s a heavy read with lots of repetition. It’s like your professor’s favorite lecture, but in book form. In short, essential, but be ready to pace yourself (and maybe have a cup of coffee nearby).

Excellent book for any TESL/TESOL/TEFL teacher, new or old.
I graduated with my MA in TESOL, with this book being assigned for one of my classes. I rented it for that class, but enjoyed it so much that I bought it later. It isn't the most exciting read, but it has a ton of excellent theory and resources in a very readable way. It's a great resource for my budding career.

It's great to have the up-dated version of this textbook
It's great to have the up-dated version of this textbook. Being an educator with an M.A. in ELL, I need to keep up with all of the most current theories and teaching strategies. I have used Celce-Murcia's text throughout my Master's program and consider it an absolute must have. The textbook arrived as promised and the condition presented. I would use this vender again if the need arose.

Why say something in one sentence when you can use nine.
Lots of decent information here, though some of the science isn't quite up to date. Includes some legitimate nonsense related to learning styles. My real complaint, and why this got three stars is this book could be just as informative and way more interesting at half it's length. Textbooks tend to be meandering but oh my god did the editor ever drop the ball on this one.

I love this book
I love this book. It's a nice read with great ideas about teaching ESL/EFL. I think it's a beneficial book for those who already have some relatable teaching experience; however, anyone could get some great tools and tips. The book is pricey. I purchased it for a course, otherwise I might not have gotten it on my own for how much it costs. Nonetheless, I did enjoy reading it.
