What is the difference between 6523 and 6524?

Don't you just love it when people respond to a question with "I don't know"? What's the point of that? Anyway, I digress. I have been eyeing the 6523 for a while and am now wishing I had bought it when it was selling for $165. As far as I can tell, the 6523 has been discontinued and the few that I can still find are selling for over $200. Meanwhile the 6524 is listed on Wen's website for $195 but marked "Sold out." The only other place I can find it is HD for $209. I am now looking at the EJWOX here on Amazon. It is a little less expensive than the "new" Wen model and appears to be identical to the Grizzly, just a different color. Hope this helps more than Douglas Bradley's "I don't know" response.

How easy to go from belt to spindle or vice versa? How long does it take?

About a minute, take the nut off the top and the belt assembly will come off. Then you can install the plate and drum onto the spindle. Note: the drum and belt opinions use two different nuts, they both come with the machine, the down side is that you have to keep up with the one your not using. To my knowledge the rigid brand is the same way.

Does the spindle move up and down as well?

Yes. The spindle moves up and down while spinning to avoid leaving scratches.

Any bench you desire. It is very stable and does not move around. Good buy, use it for all sorts of sanding projects in the shop.
