nice little leather jounal,till you try to use it. The strap to close it on mine is too wide so very difficult to fit through the loop. Plastic inserts have yellow stains on them? and leather scratches and marks every time you breath on it. Po stage Stamp stickers have no sticky and had already fallen off backing before being removed from zip pocket. Would return, but brought as birthday gift so am hoping the receipent isnt as disappointed as I was. All in all very expensive for what it is. Compass held on with one strand of thin cotton which is already frayed and brass pen holder is only useful as decoration. if it was for me would return in a heartbeat.

It's a lovely tactile little notebook .Top quality leather , flexible to owners needs . It will be used daily , and re-supplied with inserts on my travels .

I thought I was ordering the beautiful book pictured- instead paid 20e for 4 tiny paperback notebooks- this was meant as a Christmas present- utterly disgusted

Review of the notebook (this review has been transferred over by Amazon)I think I fell in love with this when I opened it. It's such a beautiful, well made leather notebook.The soft smell of the leather hits you, and even the packaging reeks of Pepys! It made me think of Darwin writing his notes on board ship moored at the Galapagos, it's a piece of nostalgia and just lovely.In the box is the notebook itself, that can be opened by a leather belt. There is a pen holder attached to the front. There are three styles of notebook - lined, plain white and plain brown. A compass bookmark pendant adds yet more seafaring feel to it.At the back is a plastic wallet with several 'stamps' inside and a spare black elastic. There is an empty plastic sleeve at the front, not big enough for a credit card but with four small pockets.Also in the pack is a spare 'plain white' notebook that can be attached, and a postcard in the same design as the box (see photos).I think I will be keeping this for myself, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a gift for friends and family who like to keep journals, draw sketches, take notes. It is also a fantastic size, suitable for (roomy!) pockets and handbags.A very beautiful handmade gift.With thanks to the manufacturer for the sample product, sent for review purposes.
