Simply outstanding
Even water cooled pcs require air flow to cool off their reservoirs, and dust collecting in radiators is just as annoying for rigs that are all air cooled. My main gaming rig is housed in a Corsair Obsidian 800 case that I mostly cool via airflow from 3 120 mm top mounted fans and a bottom mount 140mm fan. I recently switched to negative air pressure (normally I prefer positive air pressure, but I saw significant cooling improvement by switching to negative) and purchased 3 new Noctua fans. I used to use a competitors air filter that had a hexagonal grid and was rated at being able to filter fine dust, while those filters did in fact do a good job, they had to be cleaned with increasing frequency as the filter material eroded with each cleaning. After some research of varying other filters, I decided to give the Silverstone Tek a try. Wow, what a difference. First off, due to the configuration of my box, these go on the top vent, I don't even need to screw them into the case as the magnet frame adheres my steel frame very snugly. Secondly, I did a smoke test to see how much the air was being moved with the filters present and when they weren't. Though I'm sure some hindrance was present, with the naked eye I couldn't see any, the fans pulled in air just as fast with or without the Teks in place. I did the same test with unused filters of the previous sort as I had bought a entire box of them at the time and was curious to see how those held up against the Teks. I won't bore you with the nitty gritty details, same smoke test, and I could see a definite impact on how much air was being pulled through, the Teks won hands down. Cleaning these things is a snap, though in part its due to how they're mounted on my rig, I just peel them off soak, rinse then air dry overnight and then slap them back into place with very little fuss. Someone who has actually mounted these with screws will have a more involved process obviously, but the filters themselves clean up very easily if you put a little effort into taking advantage of their features. As far as their performance at filtering dust is concerned, that will take a while to test but so far I've seen zero buildup on my brand new fans. I'll update this review in a month or so with further input.

Excellent Fan Filter – Clean, Effective, and Looks Great!
I recently picked up the SilverStone Technology FF143W 140mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. The quality is outstanding – the mesh is fine enough to catch even the tiniest dust particles while still allowing plenty of airflow through. It makes a huge difference in keeping the inside of my case clean and dust-free. Installation was a breeze. The filter fits perfectly over my 140mm fans, and the build feels sturdy yet lightweight. I also really appreciate the sleek white finish – it blends seamlessly with my case and adds a clean, professional look. After running it for a couple of weeks, I can already see how much dust it has prevented from entering my system. It’s easy to remove and clean, so maintenance will be simple going forward. If you’re looking to improve airflow management and keep your PC internals spotless, this is absolutely worth the investment. Highly recommended – SilverStone nailed it with this one!

Simple but Effective None the Less
This is as basic as you would expect. A fairly flimsy piece of plastic with mesh attached. However, it works and it works well. The mesh is of a good quality and compared to other filters I have seen and used, this allows a good amount of air in while removing a good amount of dust. This is where the balance lies. A fan filter will always slow and limit air intake but at the same time it will keep a certain amount of dust out of your system. Air flow will always be limited and dust will always get through but you have to decide what is more important. For me and the gaming machines I build, this was effective at the balance of airflow to dust capture ratio. If you clean this filter every so often then it will do as it is intended and keep the air flowing and limit the dust going in. I currently do not use the filter as my case has good and removable filters installed with it, which brings me to what I dislike about this. It does a good job when you're case doesn't come with filters or comes with poor filters but it is rather difficult to remove for a good cleaning. You would have to unscrew the filter each time if you wanted to thoroughly clean it. I think if this magnetically attached to the metal screws holding the fan, this would be an easy five star filter that I could easily recommend, but it is not. For me, my current case has good filters built in that are easily removable so I don't have a need for this anymore. If you have an older case and a lot of dust then this is still an easy recommendation. You can always just vacuum the filter off when it gets congested and that will generally be good enough. If you need protection from dust, the price is reasonable and I'd recommend these as a good option.

It's Magnetic, It Stops Dust, Stop Reading and Buy It!
Couldn't be happier. My case has a couple fan mounts on the side, and I wanted to deliver fresh air to my GPUs without clogging them with dust/hair. In comes Silverstone to the rescue with this magnificent piece of hardware. It needed 3 things to make me happy: 1) Be easy to remove and clean. It's MAGNETIC, so it just pulls off, a quick couple spurts with an airduster, or some time under the faucet if it's really dirty and you can toss this mother back on and it goes back to being awesome. 2) Needed to stop dust This thing has a finer mesh than most pantyhose, let alone the stuff that comes with most computer cases. Every couple days I stop to marvel just how much dust this thing keeps my computer's guts safe from. If this thing was a bouncer at a classy club, that club would go out of business, because (you guessed it) nothing is getting in. 3) Be cheap. Ok, so it could be cheaper, but honestly? $10 is not that bad, and it saves me from the struggle of tearing apart my computer once a month and going through seventeen million airdusters trying to clean it out. In fact, if you do the math, I'm saving myself nearly 10 cleanings a year, each one taking at least an hour, so that's ten hours saved. Let's use the valuation of my time that my crappy fast food job uses ($8.25 per hour) and what do you know, this thing will save me $82.50 a year in time, sounds like a steal at $10 now, doesn't it? Unless your case is made entirely of plastic and you keep it in an airtight, heavily filtered environment, you NEED this filter, so stop reading, scroll back up, and click "Buy," you won't regret it.

A handy filter
SilverStone 120mm Fan Filter with Grill FF121B (Black) I am using this filter with a free-standing pc fan running off an old cell-phone charger. It cools two free-standing Seagate Go Flex Drives which are passively cooled. After using the drives for a short while, I was annoyed to find the cases quickly became quite warm to the touch. In a cool room, they were running over 38 - 40 degrees Celsius (outside case temperature). So I set up this fan and now the cases are cool or at most, just a tad warm. I suspect this cooling will extend the disk life span and improve reliability, but I wanted to make sure the air was reasonably clean to protect the fan and the case openings from clogging. This filter does the job. After 4 months of use (8 - 12 hours a day) the fan wasn't blowing as much air, so I pulled the filter and saw it held a lot of dust. But the fan and blades were clean. A quick wash with some soap and a rinse under the tap cleared the the dust away, and the air flow is back to normal. In the future, I'll wash the filter every 10 weeks or so, which is about how often I thoroughly dust and wipe down that area, anyway. All in all, a nice balance of cleaning the air while not requiring any irksomely-frequent maintenance. You can rig up a filter, I suppose, but it is hardly worth the effort. On the intake fan for a pc case, you may find it adequate -or not. I think it could work there as well.

Solid dust filters, easy to clean, traps dust very well. Worth a try if your in a dust filled environment.
I purchased these because my cases has a lot of air flow from the top, side, front and back which caused dust to get sucked through very easily. The filters mesh screens are extremely small which traps a ton of dust while still allowing air to flow through. Be aware a dust filter does restrict the amount of air that can go through as it is basically another barrier the air has to travel though, but it just a small margin that it's worth the investment to stop dust from damaging anything more expensive inside your machine. For me I need to clean these filters every month because my PC is on the floor and collects more dust. Pros: Easy installation with any screws or the ones that are provided. Filters out more dust than most due to the small mesh filter. Easy to clean, I just run them under water real quick and it's good to go. Cons: Limits the airflow that enters the case. If they are not cleaned often they can increase internal temps very quickly which will shorten any device life span. Could be cheaper since these are really no different than any other brand.

The best filters in the market today!
Upon the need of getting new dust filters for the front and side fans of my CM Storm Trooper, which did not come with the case and through the time of one year built a lot of internal dust inside the chassis. I looked into many options from many different websites, then found these ultra fine filters. Bought 2 of them for each fan I'm using, and they work as expected and beyond, catching dust of any size and origin, maintaining my case now clean and dust-free! However, these may have issues with some fans and screw setups. Despite being magnetic, and mostly meant to be placed outside of the chassis covering the air intake area, most likely it will be placed on top of the fan itself, and these are almost never made of metal materials. Therefore, it won't naturally stay attached, only barely grabbing onto the screws. One way to remediate this is to remove the screws, place the fan and filter in the position lined up with the holes, the screw it in carefully. As these aren't fully equal in dimension on the screw holes, these actually work as means to literally hold it in place, and with a little teaking and careful screwing it should stay there even if you shake your case really hard. Mine are still there. Overall, these are a really good product and should have more attention and reviews, as they are simply the best 120mm and 140mm fan filters today, and case modders are sure going to love these.

Works as described but benefits from extra refrigerator magnet
This does the job; the screen is as described. I picked it because people seemed to like the manufacturer. It has a magnetic frame to make it stick to the PC's case on top of the rear fan, but unsurprisingly, it's a weak magnet, and can fall off if touched, so I added two small refrigerator magnets, and that works ok. I may add a larger stronger refrigerator magnet. The filter screen does not seem to slow airflow to speak of. Note that I have it covering an intake fan. It's possible that it would tend to get blown off by a strong outward-facing fan, but I think adding refrigerator magnets is advisable in any case. I looked at a lot of possible solutions before settling on this. Beware positive reviews from people who aren't paying attention to whether some particular solution impedes airflow or not, because the things that *do* impede airflow will cause the interior temperature to rise, but that's not visible if one isn't monitoring temperatures -- except that components may fail much earlier due to heat, or in some cases they may throttle themselves down to avoid overheating, reducing performance. I subtracted one star for having such a weak magnetic frame.
