I typically wear moderately thick jeans or hiking pants, and the dress suspenders sold in most clothing stores aren't sturdy enough to hold them up. Mostly, their clips are just too flimsy and easily loose their grip under even the slightest amount of strain. So I decided to try some beefier suspenders made for working men. The trouble is, I'm not a working guy, and the "contractor grade" suspenders with super wide straps and chunky, industrial grade clips, proved to be overkill for my needs. Aside from not being all that comfortable, due to their heft, I worried that over time their overly aggressive clips would begin to wear holes in my waistbands. And, frankly, I also wanted something a little more discreet that I could wear comfortably under my shirts. After a few uses, I retired my heavy-duty suspenders and replaced them with these -- and I couldn't be happier. Rather than using bulky clips, they adjust with Velcro. With the straps being narrower, softer and "trucker style," they are more comfortable and less noticeable under clothing. The plastic "cam" connectors hold just as tightly as the full-size metal clips that look like miniature leghold traps, but being smaller they're also more comfortable and less likely to dig into my waist when I sit down or bend over. I can't speak to how effective these might be for not triggering security scanners at airports. From other posts I've read, the latest generation of scanners, being less focused on metal, will "see" these quite readily when worn under clothing, potentially leading to the wearer being pulled aside for closer inspection. Thus, if worn on a plane trip, I might opt to wear these suspenders like regular ones -- outside my shirt where they would easily visible -- and then move them to their more discrete location once I arrive at my destination. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it -- and it may be quite a while, or at least until COVID is a thing of the past. For now, I'm totally satisfied with these lightweight, comfortable & inconspicuous suspenders. Review: Great product! Wish I had ordered sooner! - Decided to wear these for a week before giving a rating. I am a independent Information Technology field engineer. I am constantly up and down. On ladders and crawling around on the floors. I have always had problems with keeping my pants up. I have purchased many regular belts from leather to stretchy but none have been able to do the job. I tighten them to the point that I can barely stand it but to no avail. Somehow, my pants still manage to fall down. All my work jeans have the belt loop ripped off or almost off due to my constant and habitual pulling on them to keep my pants up. (see pic) After many years of frustration, I decided to look at suspenders. I initially didn't like the idea nor did my better half. The look of having suspenders just didn't appeal to me until I discovered the Wide Hip-clip Style Undergarment. I immediately ordered them hoping it would solve my problem of ruining jeans after jeans. I've wore them for a week now and I must say with all enjoyment, I couldn't be happier. Very easy to adjust and feel really good . It's like wearing a tight tee shirt under you polo or whatever shirt you choose to wear. I was worried that the clasps would irritate but that soon disappeared after the first full day. No irritation what so ever. You do notice it, but after you get busy, you don't even notice it. I worked all week without once having to pull up my pants. In fact, I even forgot to put on a regular belt one day which made me very nervous without the extra support, the Wide Hip-clip Style Undergarment wouldn't stand up... to my surprise it held up great. I couldn't be happier. In fact, I might stop wearing a belt altogether. In summery, this is an outstanding product. I wish I had decided to get it years ago. It would have saved me a lot of money replacing jeans. I highly recommend it to anyone that needs to keep their pants up without having to wear suspenders outside their shirts.

They're great and well manufactured suspenders but I have my own issues with them.
First off I'll say they are high quality, very well made and for the most part very well comfortable . The clips are as advertised and better than I expected and do exactly as they say they do. My only issue is that in order to actually keep my pants up because they are elastic, is that I have to make them really tight and that tends to pull into the shoulders . If I leave them to a comfortable point my pants sag and I really don't like that . But I have a feeling that's going to be the same way with any type of suspenders. Are they worth getting yes,

Two clips just does not work well (at least for me)
This is entirely my fault, I bought it too quickly not realizing that there even was such a thing as suspenders with only 2 attachment points. But there are, and this is. But even though I bought the wrong thing, I wanted to comment as I tried using it -- two points of attachment makes it really easy to attach, but horrible at comfortably supporting your pants. Unless they already have something like an elastic waist band, the waist band between the clips sags and looks and feels awful. The pants do not fall down (as in to the floor) of course, but it just doesn't work well. These do what they say they do, but... if you are expecting somehow equal effectiveness with more convenience - this isn't it.

Comfortable, durable, work as advertised.
My husband can't say enough good things about these. He has worn them almost everyday for the past three years. He has no hips so belts are useless and uncomfortable. Now, after three years they are getting a little weak, but still keep his pants up. He usually wears his shirts untucked, but you can tuck them in around the clasp if desired. Durable. Comfortable. Keeps the pants up! Ordering another pair today.

The best thing ever for big men!
I've only worn these twice, and they're already my favorite thing to put on. Big guys usually have to wear their pants unnaturally low or unnaturally high, but my pants are now at the correct height. I bend and lift and stretch repeatedly during my work shift, and they have stayed strong and comfortable throughout. Not only am I writing a review, but I'm also telling people one-on-one that they need a pair of their own.

Holdup Suspenders - the BEST
My husband says HOLDUP SUSPENDERS are the BEST. He prefers the hip clip. He used to be able to buy them with a metal clip and he prefers the metal clip, but still likes the suspenders and wears them everyday. I hope the company will start making them with the metal clips again.

Holdup -the double entendres leaves you the victim!
Anyone naming this product Hold Up surely had a sense of humor. As I throw this pair away, having worn them only a few times, frustrated by them many times, and disappointed all the time. In theory, this is a great idea…no metal, ultra adaptable, and soft close so it doesn’t wear out the band of your pants. The reality is the Velcro doesn’t hold, and the clamps don’t hold and often pop open. As you can see the closure depends on tiny ridges in the clasp and friction. Through work pants, the whole endeavor is immaterial, further the clasp will pop loose if it gets tapped. If you are wearing a tool belt - just take the suspenders off and save yourself the aggravation. These may work if you plan to sit all day, but if you are actively working, you may find yourself spending equal time adjusting your britches. Perry suspenders are the best way I have found to hold up pants without rubbing holes in your work pants. So whether you are held up constantly adjusting and tinkering with these suspenders, disappointed that they don’t hold up, or just feel robbed after buying them…you will understand the humor I see in the name. I guess there is an off chance these will actually hold something up for someone, but do yourself a favor and just keep shopping!

Great clips
The clips on these are perfect, I wish I could get proper braces with them on, sadly for me these are just too uncomfortable to give any more than 3 stars, service was good though
