A Place to Bury Strangers' new album WORSHIP is explosive, visceral, and dark. WORSHIP interweaves threads of krautrock, dream-pop, and 80s goth without ever losing the edge that is quintessentially Strangers.

My third favorite APTBS album. But that's saying I like it a lot!
A really good A Place to Bury Strangers. It has a quality which it shares with Transfixiation of being cacaphonic when played loud and Atmospheric when played turned down. I like in this order Transfixiation, A Place to Bury Strangers, Worship, and Exploding Head. Pinned being my least favorite. They are a really good (my favorite at the moment) "New" band. They've been around for about 10 years, but like very few other bands, have achieved the (for me) highly valued quality of not really sounding like any other band.

Melodic noise I can't resist
Radio says they are the new My Bloody Valentine. No, they share with them what all these bands share--the sound of train brakes from those 19th Westerns-noise. But these guys are more like 21st century Sonic Youth, melodic, driven, dark. I love it. They pound out distortion and speed it up, mix it with dark, fuzzy vocals and it hits the mark. It's as simple as that. I once saw Social D open and then Sonic Youth came on the stage and riddled, pummeled the audience with waves of frenetic distortion, then Neil Young came on the stage and performed a perfunctory, rather mundane trip through his catalog. A Place to Bury Strangers are a hybrid of all of these three bands in my hyperbolic mind. Musically mutated genetics come to fruition here and now. I love this band. They have a vision as different as I remember Husker Du having in the late 80s, meaning no one compares really to them. They have no rivals. I really thought December Sound came close to these guys a few years back, don't know what happened to them. Still, this is cool stuff.6 stars.

Fantastic album!
A fantastic album by the band. Reminiscent of Joy Division, crossed with a very dark shoegaze sound.

HAIL APTBS!
Yep... these guys cannot do anything wrong. What is there to say, Jesus and Mary Chain.... roll over and play dead. ... Or, get up and play again with a lot of Mybloodyvalentine & Lovesliescrushning gorgeous noise in the fore-ground. HAIL APTBS! eitherway... this is an essential album to get.

My favorite album of theirs
My favorite album of theirs. Great band. I love Olivers guitar work, sound and approach. His pedals are pretty awesome too, lol. If you love fuzzed out, yet strong melody driven music this if for you :)

Raging, dark & diverse noise-covered melodies
3rd album from Brooklyn band--Raging, dark noise-covered melodies, where a sugar-coated pop-hook core lies bubbling in the belly of dance-crazed demons rockin' on razor blades. An attack-mode experiment mixing melody with the outer limits of ear-screeching volume. Powerful, invigorating, happy head-ripping music. A place where explosive electronics and white-hot guitar turbulence mate in a maelstrom of inspired & addictive hypno-terror rock. A fiercely massive magic missile for the body & brain. Like Jesus & Mary Chain on steroids. Or D.A.F. whacked out on whiskey. Or Weekend, Suicide & Serena Maneesh jamming together in a bad mood. Or Beach Boys meet Joy Division in the meth lab. Seriously. Easily the best thing APTBS has ever recorded and a stand-out moment for music in 2012. Dangerously brilliant!

A compelling reason to lose your hearing and gain a new favourite band
I recommend this highly if you like the Jesus and Mary Chain, slightly post-Psychocandy era only, mind you. If you want something a little rawer then check out their previous album, 'Exploding Head', also a total 5 star wonder. If you want to hear what the follow-up to Psychocandy should have been then get the first eponymous album from these guys, it is a monster and borders on the unlistenable while being a compelling reason to lose your hearing. My new favourite sounds.
