4-string Chrome Hard-tail Bridge for Cigar Box Guitars Electric Ukulele & More

Rock out with your Uke out.
I am building an electric Ukulele and needed a bridge. Looked everywhere for something I could modify to fit. Electric guitar bridges would work but would have to be modified to remove the pieces for outer strings. As well the string spacing on an electric guitar is too close together, 10mm on center, for my ukulele picking style. Bass bridges come in 4 string versions but the string spacing is too far apart, 17-19mm on center, to be useful for strumming. This bridge is a little tight for string spacing for my taste, 12mm on center I prefer 14-15mm, but a little modification took car of that. The good thing is it is not a 6 string bridge with 2 strings missing, but actually a 4 string bridge.Pros:Base and string rests are solid metal, not plastic. Steel springs and screws.Chrome plating is very nice, with no yellow areas like on a cheap chroming job.Allen wrench is included for hight adjustment. Two screws per string rest so the string makes a solid connection to the base.Cons:The wood screws that came with the unit are very poor quality. But screws are cheap so not a real problem. The allen screws are not all straight, some were obviously drilled wrong. Doesn't effect the function just ascetics if you care on that detail and I don't.All said and done, this is a nice unit. Considering how difficult it was to just find a good bridge that can hold up to steel electric guitar strings being used on a ukulele, this is a great product for a good price.
