GIBSONPerformance Exhaust 98001 Stainless Header and Exhaust System for Polaris

My younger brother has a RZR 800 and the factory muffler rusted away and fell apart. I purchased this because it looked like the closest to stock sound levels and was constructed from stainless.The unit fit just fine, and if you have the most basic of mechanical skills you could install this in under 1 hour. I cannot comment on how hard the old exhaust is to take off because the muffler was already rusted off from the main pipes. I can tell you ahead in case you do not read, you need to reuse two of the stock exhaust springs, so don't let them fall in the belly pan or you have to go fishing for them.I would elect for header wrap instead of the heat shields that come with the kit, but that is just me, and I have lots of it on hand.Great product, and the sound is very close to the stock unit.

Nice quality, fit not so good. Had to cut and reweld to make work. Heat Shields don’t really work still recommending cause of price.

I originally chose this exhaust system because of the cost. Considerably less $$$ than most. After doing a little research on this product, I realized that it sounded pretty darn good. So, I ordered it. Amazon was fantastic in shipping it to me. Very fast and it was packed very well. I installed it on my 2009 RZR 800S. When I purchased the RZR it was already equipped with high comp pistons, after market clutch, Cold Air Intake, ect... It took me about an hour to get the stock exhaust off and another 30 minutes to mount the Gibson. Holy Cow!!! She screams now. The next thing was to install a fuel controller. Now it keeps up the the turbo units! The Gibson was what this little machine needed. I have another RZR 800 that i think I'll do the same to. I would highly recommend this one!!!

Well constructed and the sound is great. It is a little louder than the factory exhaust. But it cured my backfiring .

The product description needs to be updated to notate that if you have a lift kit on your RZR it will not fit. I wasted part of my Saturday just to realize it wouldn't work. I'm sure if you have a non lifted RZR, it will work without any issues.

Order a gasket with it, re use oem header bolts. Cool sticker

I recently installed this Gibson exhaust on my '08 RZR because my stock system rusted out and I wanted a full, stainless system for durability and improved power. No disopointment here:) Instalation was easy and all parts fit great. Removing the old, rusted exhaust was the hard part:( but installing the new exhaust took less than an hr. I like the lower sounding thump this exhaust gives my RZR and yet it isn't overly loud. I notice more power mostly in the low to mid rpm range, which I like because I do a lot of lower speed snow plowing and tecknicle trail riding with my machine. I would definitely recomend this system to a friend.
