This was a nice introduction to Hank Aaron. Colorful paintings accompany the story. He was very brave and talented and he helped break the color lines in baseball. He set a good example for African Americans. He did not let racism stop him from being successful in baseball. This is a good book for young readers. Recommended for fans of Hank Aaron.

This book does a tremendous job of showcasing Hank Aaron's accomplishments and personality. Our present-day pro athletes swim in a sewer of bad language and despicable conduct, a culture largely of their own making. I'm raising a family of boys, and finding a biography like this of an admirable athlete, a biography that is so well-written and well-illustrated -- it's a blessing.The love surrounding young Hank comes through loud and clear in the beginning pages of the book. And his accomplishments shine out of the rest of the pages -- the illustrations are so clear and vivid, so joyful.Peter Golenbeck and Paul Lee did great work on this book. I hope they'll team up again, to inspire even more boys to chase their dreams.

it is a great biography that descibes hanks courage during a very difficult time in his carrer. however, hank overcomes all the negativity and becomes the all time home run record holder.
