But Monty couldn't be happier especially when he learns that his mother-in-law has left him a hefty inheritance. There's just one catch: according to the will, he must turn his vices into virtues before he can turn his windfall into cold, hard cash! Rodney For President!
AMAZON PRIME VIDEOI saw this in a first-run theater when it first came out, and I immediately dug on it. Great movie, particularly for those who love the highly unique humor of Rodney's non-stop zingers. So funny, and such an amazing talent. Who else can do what he did?!The major comedic bonus in this film is, of course, Joe Pesci. Put these two characters together, and the laughs just keep on coming. So it was great to spot this (for free!) on Amazon last week, and to see it for the first time in literally decades. And while it wasn't quite as hilarious as I recalled, it was still pretty darn funny. Of his "solo" films (i.e. not counting Caddy Shack), I'd put this only behind "Back to School", which is a must-see for all true Rodney fans.Ironically, I think my favorite line was doled out by Rodney's filthy-rich, battle ax mother-in-law. (The bit is actually in the movie trailer.) She's thoroughly disgusted by his very presence, and exclaims, "Look at him! His entire body is bloodshot!" I'm guessing Rodney crafted that line!My final comment is that this film seems to best showcase the raw, real Rodney. It was him being himself with minimal scripting. And to me, that really made this film shine.4.5 STARS

One of Rodney's best.
This movie is hilarious! From the get-go, it had me rollingaround laughing! One of Rodney's best! The movie also stars Joe Pesci as Nicky the Plumber.(my first film I ever saw him in.)Some great quotes include...Nicky and Monte, at Monahans department store:"How long do you intend to browse?""Hey, that lady over there, you didn't ask her how long she intends to browse. How come you're asking us, how long we intend to browse?""You don't look like browsers.""What do browsers look like?""Maybe I'm half-browser.""On his father's side."Nicky and Monte, upstairs, with the board of directors ofMonahans. Monte, has just been offered a top job, asFashion Consultant, and Nicky says:"No no, take the job, take the job. The first thing we'll dois fire that broad downstairs, who stopped us from browsing."Nicky, explaining to Monte, how to get to New York Harborfrom Florida:"You steam north up the Atlantic, west into the Hudson...you come to the statue of that broad, you hang a left...."Monte, in his basement with his poker buddies, after dinner with his family:"So what did you tell her today.""I said her perfume was driving me crazy. I said you'd think I married Rose to get to you...My mother-in-law...For years I wouldn't kiss her face-I ended up kissing her ass!"Hilarious! A must see!

Missing Footage!
Years ago I was in stitches watching Rodney Dangerfield's performance in Caddyshack after that I hired Easy Money on vhs and that was just as good. So I bought it on dvd and was shocked to see that one of the best scenes of the film had been cut out. It's in the peak of his "rehabilitation" from drugs, booz, gambling and fast/fatty foods. He is at a boxing match and everyone around him including his mates are drinking, smoking and eating their hearts out and it gets to him so much he sees himself as one of the men in the boxing ring getting pounded on. It's quite a long scene and snippets of this footage are on the trailer on the dvd yet not in the film itself. It's a great scene and I don't know why they cut it out. 5 stars with the scene and 4 stars without it!

Great movie with real comedy
For those "in the know," P.J. O'Rourke gets a writing credit in this movie. That is probably all you need to know next to a guarantee of hilarity. The movie is hilarious and well-written until the denoument, at which moment there is a Deus ex machina moment so severe that I am still nursing my whiplash. But if you can overlook about the last five minutes, it is well worth the time invested.

One of the funniest movies ever made. Ever! "Nicky it's wrong!
Julio asks "now, can I call you dad? LOL This movie is non stop funny. Taylor Negron as Julio should have had his own film. No Superbad is not as funny as this movie. Few are. As a warning, it is old school. Joe Pesci is at his best as Nicky Cerone. Come on the plot is simple but perfect. No sin he gets the cash. Taylor Negron as Julio in the I am the man scene kills! OMG! "Come down I am the man I'm bad" Watch it!

Let the man speak!
When Rodney Dangerfield gets to do his shtick - his regular stand-up type humor - the world listens and laughs. This movie isn't related to that shtick. It sounds like some all-knowing Producers let their cousins write the script. Rodney has a writing credit, but I'll bet it's for the handful of his jokes they finally left on the pages.Strange - it's like they tried to make it kid-friendly, then turned around and threw in lame sex jokes and joints! If you were expecting Caddyshack - level humor, as Joe Pessci would say, "forgetaboutit!"Pesci can stand and deliver good lines too - if they're on the page! But Rodney's "cousin Vinny" hardly gets a joke in this convoluted plot. The setup takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r, about 30 minutes, and the plot is 90% predictable - there was only one plot twist at the end that threw me, and even THAT one didn't pay off!Two great actors - one lousy, lousy script, one comatose director - and the rest is a waste of time. When you've got great comedians...let them do what they do best!

Twn million? Easy money?
Rodney dangerfield does again in one of his best films. He plays a loving husband who must give up his way of life for $10million dollars in a year. Along with joe pesic and jennifer jason leigh, a riot frim start to finish. Any dangerfield should feel respected.

Dangerfield on target!
Having recently got into Dangerfield's satire forms of comedy, i was gasping for more!I took a risk and bought 3 star studded Dangerfield DVDs with this DVD being the first of the three that i had recieved following my viewing of Caddyshack. I was therefore desperate to sample some more of his work. In doing so, this film is again very funny. Like Caddyshack his comedy is in some points very quick, whitty and well timed. There are bits in it that i had to rewind and watch again for the pure laughs of it (scenes like on the excersize bike and him and Pesci in the department store are in my opinion very funny). The storyline is well thought out and cast by a select group of actors. Having been a great admirer of Joe Pesci i was equally impressed with his typical approach to comedy. If you have seen Caddyshck you will love this one.
