First Gibson Exhaust 14 GMC Sierra 5.3 CC/SB
7/17/2015So, to start this out right. This is my first Gibson Exhaust. After doing some YouTube browsing for some sound clips, and what to expect for DB Level. I was sold on this exhaust just after 30min of reading reviews and listening to people's builds. I took a risk and bought an "Open Boxed" New/Used system. It arrived promptly thanks to Primes 2day shipping. However, the box looked like it had been through a shooting range, secured with 5lbs of tape, and upon opening the box I am greeted to No Packing Material. Thankfully, even with no bubble wrap protecting the metal. Everything appears to be in tact with minimal scratches/dents/dings. After unboxing and setting the performance exhaust out to test fit everything, it's easy to see, this is one Well Built catback exhaust. The metals heavy and sturdy, tips are polished to a brilliant mirror finish, and in no way does a single item feel cheap in this kit. Everything slip fit Perfectly on the first try, the muffler clamps appear to have a zinc coating on them, and the muffler feels rigid and pristine. First impressions on it, it appears to be worth the money. I'll be installing it this weekend and will post an update when it's installed and taken for a test drive.UPDATE 7/19/15So, this catback went from 5 stars to 3 because of one serious defect in craftsmanship and safety. Do Not use the tightening method they supply you with on those tips. I tightened the clamp as tight as I could, and after a few short minutes of driving. The tips FELL OFF. That could have been Very bad if at high speeds. Do yourself a favor and purchase 2 more 2.25" Muffler Clamps like I did and use them to hold your tips on. Aside from that, the install took me 1.5hrs to complete by myself. Everything slid into place scarily easy actually. Not too loud, and by no means quiet. You will be very impressed with the sound this exhaust produces. Low powerful rumble at idle, and a aggressive V8 note while driving. In V8 mode I notice Zero Drone. In V4 mode there Is a slight drone. It's barely noticeable, even at 55+, and a few clicks of the radio takes care of that.Update 7/28/15 Here's a link to this exhaust on my truck. Just did a quick hot start/idle. [...]Update 10/11/2015 This exhaust actually is kind of shotty. Which is disappointing to say the least. Between having to buy muffler clamps to keep the tips on. To now having to reseal the front main pipe since it's leaking right where the clamp is. To NOW finding that both the brackets that hold the the two exhaust pipes together, have now broke. At first it was a rattle, to now the pipes are banging into each other. I haven't even owned this exhaust for 3 months and already it's breaking! What a joke. I attached a picture of the broken bracket to see where it broke. Not even at the weld. The welds perfect, the metal clearly is not. First and Last Gibson I will be buying. Update 5/2/2016I Hate This Exhaust. Honestly, I wish I could get a refund for buying such a junk product. The main pipe that goes into the muffler connects to your OEM pipe. No Where in the instructions does it say that you need to purchase a new OEM exhaust clamp. If you call Gibson though, they'll gladly tell you how you should change it because it's a one time use clamp. So aside from the tips falling off, the brackets breaking, having to buy muffler clamps for the tips, to Now having to buy a new $35 clamp AND try to fix the leak between the seals. I Give Up. I'm selling this pile and buying a Magnaflow exhaust.

Almost well finished..
So I went ahead & purchased the gibson 5656 for my truck upended for the 2 day delivery options cause my time is very valuable I run a very tight ship.. wanted to install it on my day off in thanksgiving got it today opened the box laid all in the floor to make sure all is there & fits but the muffler does not fit. It is not open enough so the pipe from the cat slide into the superflow muffler. I'll include pic. Now cause of the holidays I won't get my part until mid to end of next week. I'm not to happy about that.. that's why I rated so low..

3rd Gibson system on 3rd pickup truck! Still the best!
I listened to hours of exhaust videos on Youtube of each of my vehicles trying to find the sound I liked best. Each time, Gibson came put on top, not only for sound, but value and performance as well. No drone in the cab on a Silverado, even in V4 mode. No backfire/cracking when letting off the throttle. You can tell Gibson spends some time on R&D, rather than throwing some baffles and packing into some rolled steel like most aftermarket...and several hundred less for the same sound and performance as top of the line systems like Borla!

Went together very easily and sounds great
Went together very easily and sounds great, the only thing is there is a slight exhaust leak at startup but that can be fixed

DRONE!!!
Drone in my 2014 Silverado with windows up was unbearable. Between 1700-2000 rpm.. Corsa sport ordered, will see if that truly is drone free as they claim. The Gibson is for sale, let me know if you're interested.
