King Arthur Tools Merlin 2 Angle Grinder Kit

I used this tool once to attempt to cut a slot in a piece of soft metal. The slot only had to be 2.5" long and only the width of the blade. The material was 20 gage metal. I wasn't able to finish the cut before the motor started smelling and smoking (A LOT). I finished the job with a much smaller dremel tool in half the time I spent using the Merlin2. For the cost of this tool, that is totally unacceptable.I've had this tool for just about a year but, due to a recent move, I forgot I had it because it was packed up as soon as I got it. I finally unboxed it and had a reason to try it. What a complete disappointment.I will reach out to the manufacturer and see what they say and update if they take care of me. If you don't see an update, they either haven't replied or told me to pound sand.

Love the concept, but the motor burned out after just a few hours of use. Definitely not worth $300.
