Headlight Restoration Kit/Defogger

This is by far the best headlight restoration kit on the market for the money. I have a friend who was going into headlight restoration as a business and we tried extremely expensive kits and we went to Advanced Auto and found this kit and we tried it and the difference adds 10+ years to your cars look. Yellowing went away and they looks like pure glass. Really glad I found this kit back in early 2000's and I continue to use it when needed. I actually cut the sandpaper in half and only use half the clearcoat and I can do two full sets of headlights with one kit. You can't beat that! I will continue to use this product as long as it's available.

I used it today and found it worked very well on my 2002 Mazda Protege. I am due for my annual inspection and the product I used last had really failed to keep my headlights clear like it advertised. It failed two years ago for the lenses and I didn't want to repeat again this year. I followed the instructions and my lenses look almost as clear as my 2012 Honda. I should have no problems with them at inspection. I hope their lifetime guarantee works as well.I plan on buying another kit for the Honda.

I got the info from my nephew I seen what a great job it did on his truck. It is great' I'm waiting for a break in the weatherto do my van,I'm sure that it will be great .

Edit: Original review was 5 stars. While the ease of use is certainly true, I wound up buying a whole new set of headlight assemblies a few months later. The lenses clouded up again, but from the sealer, not yellowing. Maybe I didn't apply enough sealer to do the job, but either way, the sanding marks began to show within a few weeks.*****I bought this kit at a local auto parts store for the same price, for use on my 10-year-old Silverado. The package easily did both headlights and both running lights, and I must say, I am impressed.The process uses two levels of sandpaper to remove corrosion and residues (and in my case, a little paint overspray from a repair job), polishing paste to finish after sanding, and ends with what is basically a clearcoat filler that erases scratches and hazing. It was easy, and all done by hand. The package suggests a time estimate of around 10 minutes per headlight, but I took a little extra time to make sure I sanded well. Their estimate also doesn't include doing the running lights.The whole process took a little more than an hour, including cleanup and a quick "shine" test. The lenses are not as good as new - no kit will make that happen - but they are pretty darned close. I highly recommend it.

Fortunately I only used it on one side. Going to go to a professional detail shop to fix my mistake of buying this $30 crap.

I purchased the Cv Headlight Restoration kit as a 'last result' before having my headlights professionally done. I have never had luck with ANY of the other kits that I have purchased, but after watching the video on their web-site, figured the low cost was worth one more shot doing it myself. I used the kit on a 100% garage kept, 2007 Mercedes E-class with MILDLY discolored headlights. The time required took considerably longer than is stated, but nothing excessive. The results were actually amazing!! The headlights looked liked new!!! Unfortunately, spots of discoloration started to return approximately 1 month later. Since the results were so good I was intending to purchase another kit in case I had done something wrong - I used the contact form on the web-site to explain the situation and to ask what special steps might be required to remove the lens hardener that is used in order to utilize the second kit effectively. I received a phone call approximately a day later, and after 20 minutes of being told that it was clearly "user error", they agreed to send another kit (which i never asked for) and THEY recommended I purchase a finer grit of sandpaper to be used as an additional step. Interestingly, the gentleman I spoke with indicated that the kit did not work on all headlights and that the discoloration may have come from the INSIDE!?!? When I asked how that could be since it seemed to completely work the first time, he got upset and told me just to use the second kit and follow the directions. I didn't know whether to be excited by the free second kit, or upset about the rudeness?!I spent approximately two hours on the second kit making sure that I was as thorough as possible and the results again were amazing!! I took pictures and sent an update via the contact link on their page.At almost the 1 year mark the discoloration has returned, which I have read in other reviews is common. I attempted to contact them again using the web-site link to offer an update and see if there was anything else that I could do (I have never asked for a refund or to utilize the "lifetime guarantee"), but never received any type of response. SO - in the SHORT TERM - excellent results - BUT THIS IS NOT A LONG TERM SOLUTION AND THE LIFETIME GUARANTEE IS NOT ACCURATE.
