Works perfectly for drainage pipe inspection!
I was hesitant to purchase this product after reading the sparse reviews but am so glad I did. I suspected that the connection issues might be user issues which I think is true. The phone app was perfect and easy to use. To connect wirelessly, you have to turn off Auto-connect for the wifi you use at home. That way you can connect to the endoscopy easily, so easily that even when I returned to use the camera another day it connected as soon as I opened it the app.As for the "no picture" complaint, I had what I thought was the same issue. When I pushed the camera into the pipe I couldn't see anything. However when I pulled it out of the pipe I could see the video. Hmmm, I thought. So I pushed the camera in a few more feet and Voila! I could see the video. It turns out that the interior of the first few feet of the pipe was black so there was nothing to see, just blackness. I'm glad I didn't give up!My only "complaint" is that the light is not really adjustable. When I adjusted the brightness it was pretty much either on or off. This fact did not affected the usefulness of the tool for me.I did not try to use the camera without taping it to another object. I think the cable is too flexible to be effective in a long run of 4" pipe. I taped it to a garden hose at first. This proved to be difficult to push into the pipe at about 30 feet. Next I used a fiberglass electrical wire-pulling tool. That was much, much easier to convey into the pipe. The only "problem" you are going to have to overcome when using this tool is how to protect the camera and keep it somewhat centered in the pipe. It is such a small camera that if there is any water in the pipe it will submerge and you won't be able to see. I inserted the camera in a 1" PVC coupler with some spacing material and taped it in place.Lastly, I did not have any problem with the battery. I fully charged it before attempting to use the camera. I used it for more than an hour over a span of four or five days and never ran out of power.I am pleased to own this useful and inexpensive tool and look forward to finding other uses for it.

UPDATED: Buy the NEWER device! It works!! Old App didn't work on 4 devices. New one works!!
The company has EXTREMELY good customer service! After I emailed them, they got back with me a day later but I was upset so I had already returned it to Amazon. They offered to send me a new one to try and they did. They sent me https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YC763D3 Do a search for B07YC763D3 if you want to check it out. THIS endoscope and app worked like a charm!! It connected as soon as I set it up following the instructions on the included paperwork. I give them 3 extra stars because they went over and beyond to make this situation right for us, and I appreciate that very much.************I wanted to love this endoscope and wanted it to work. My husband and I tried 3 different Android devices and an IOS device and none of it worked. The app does not work. Yes, we input the correct wifi password and the correct ID on the back of the unit AND in the paperwork that came along with it. It even popped up a QR code saying if we scan it with another device then we can bypass the password. THAT didn't work either and there was NO information about this QR code in the included paperwork or online. None of it worked and all we had was a black screen on the app.We are pretty tech-savvy people so when I read the bad reviews I thought that surely those people must have been doing something wrong. I even emailed the company to ask for assistance but they took more than 1 day to get back with me, so I sent it back because I need a resolution to our problem, that's why we bought this thing! We used 2 different Samsung Note 9, an LG V30 and iPad. None of them worked. So... buyer beware.

A definite must for a home owner
This water proof endoscope is a great tool to have for a home owner. I used to look down my main drain line into my septic and I was clearly able to see a build up of grease that was causing a back up. The led lights were bright the picture quality was great, they even make a high quality mega pixel. The instructions were crystal clear on how to manage the products own WiFi and download the app and use of the camera. The remote was a great feature and my son was able to brighten up and zoom in and out for me. Pictures and videos can be captured by the remote or on your phone and they save directly to your photo gallery. This is a great buy a a great alternative to spending $150+ on a inspection camera, plus this has multiple uses!

Totally useless for sewer/drain pipes
They've advertised this item as "widely used" for applications such as pipeline/sewer/drain. But have you noticed that they don't include any picture of this use-case?!Well guess what: drains/sewer pipes are dirty and full of gunk. And the camera enclosure of this product has a small "bevel/rim" around it which is the perfect way to pickup all of those gunks and trap them right on top of the camera. To make things worse, the LEDs are very close to the edge of this "bevel/rim" so even if the enclosure doesn't pick up lots of gunk to completely cover the camera, it will pick up a little gunk enough to cover the LEDs and so with no lights anymore, all you'll see is just a black screen. This product might be useful for a lot of other applications, but I bought it for inspecting sewer/drain pipes (since it was advertised to be used for such things) and it is totally useless.
