Battle Sports Science NuttyBuddy Protective Cup and Jock Combo - Cup Jock

It has been a while since needing to wear a protective cup. And to be honest, I was not looking forward since I remember them to be uncomfortable. All I can say is that a lot has changed over the years. I use this for umpiring behind the dish. This is very comfortable and I recommend it to anybody looking for a cup. The best way I found to wear it is to have it over compression shorts or performance underwear. Then use an athletic supporter to keep it in place. Do not use a supporter with a cup holder. It just does not work well and moved too much. The sewing of the elastic bands are starting to come apart after only a few uses. I have seen this detailed in other reviews and the problem is real. I really did not buy it for the strap but it would of been nice to have it hold up longer than 6 outings.

Have you ever been smacked in the genitals by a guy wielding a rattan stick? It's happened to me and it is only slightly less fun and a bit more painful than it sounds, even with a traditional cup. I bought one of these after watching the guy on Sports Science take a 90 MPH fastball to the cup on TV. Since then, I've taken a number of rattan stick "cup shots" while wearing one of these. And while I won't say that you won't NOTICE a cup shot, you'll be out of the game for FAR less time wearing one of these than any other cup on the market. You SHOULD learn how NOT to get hit in the nuts. If someone DOES try to hit you there, you SHOULD learn to block that. But for those moments when you CAN'T, this is the cup you want to own. I bought three more after my first experience with one. If you're a guy and you participate in a combat sport, I would buy more than one.

1st of all, order 1size larger. My son, a catcher, is almost 15, 5'6" inches tall and 140 lbs. I got him the large jock because of the reviews I read and am glad I did. He has a 31 inch waist, but the large fit perfectly and comfortably.His review: It felt a little weird at first but was easy to get used to. I've taken a few direct hits and hits underneath and all I felt was pressure and NO PAIN! I watched my teammate take a hit when a fastball bounced underneath and it knocked him to the ground and he was out of commission the rest of the day. I bet he wished he had a Nutty Buddy! It fits best with the jock strap over sliders and not in my sliders.

Better than a regular cup, but not ideal. I don’t understand where/how your junk is supposed to go. I am 5’11” 160 with large parts. I ordered a large. If I point everything down they fit inside the cup, but the “wings” of the cup are too big to fit between my thighs at my groin. I can’t run without it losing position. If I point everything up, they don’t fit and it’s very uncomfortable. I play catcher and took a foul tip that hit the ground and bounced up into the cup and I wanted to die. I wish it came with instructions.

Never ever thought that I would rave about a cup but I can't say enough good things about the product. I have not worn a cup for years due to my not-so-good memories of wearing a cup growing up. Didn't matter what the sport was, wearing a cup was bulky and uncomfortable (often times to the point that it hurt) as it would dig into my upper legs. Times have changed. This cup fits perfectly. I could wear this thing all day. It doesn't hinder my movement at all and the shape of it does a better job of protecting all of my package.I wear the jockstrap and cup over a pair of compression shorts however you could probably get away without wearing the jockstrap. The cup fits so well that a pair of football or baseball pants are tight enough that they would likely keep the cup in place.

Not your usual cup. I'm 5'7" 175 and I went with the Trophy and Medium jock. The jock will stretch towards a 36" waist but if you wear a 36" go with the next size up on the jock (large versus medium). The cup felt a little snug but once you position it and fit everything nicely, it does feel very comfortable. I would think that most adults would be fine with the Trophy and then just get the right jock.

This is definitely one of the best cup/supporter combos that I own. I was worried at first with there not being a "cup pocket", but there were absolutely no issues with this jock staying in place during baseball and Martial Arts. The only issue I had was initially ordering the correct size cup, you cannot really judge the fit by height and weight.

Overall better than the cup and supporter you can buy at the local sporting goods store. It fits well and is most certainly is a better protector than a regular cup. I train Krav Maga and have worn this cup for about two months now. In that time I have taken some shots to the jewels that would have dropped me with my old cup. The only negative that I have noticed is that, because this cup is so much stiffer than my old cup, when grappling with someone heavy on top of me the whole Nutty Buddy being pushed into my pelvis is uncomfortable. Overall the trade off is worth it.

For medical reasons, I need a very large cup, and this has come the closest to being large enough of any I have seen on the market. Now I can finally start fencing, and can consider other martial sports. As for the Jockstrap part of the combo it is fairly loose, even though i bought a 34" waist for my currently 35" waist. The waist section isnt the problem though, just a bit too much give in the leg straps. Not likely to be a problem for most others though. I have to use additional strapping to pull it close enough to my legs to reduce the chances of getting stabbed from the sides, and this causes a little... compression. I tested it once i felt secure, hitting it with a wrench, and felt no pain, so overall a very good product, and I would recommend it.

It ahs keywords "large youth jock" so I thought it'd be perfect for my teenage student. But man, it's tiny! Like seriously. It's more "mouse" than "boss!"

Not only does it offer great protection, but it gives you peace of mind when on the field. I've been hit while wearing other jocks and still felt the pain, there is significantly less pain when getting hit with this jock on. It is also very comfortable to wear and easy to run while wearing this jock. I also like how well the jock strap keeps the jock in place.

I just had it tested for the first time on the weekend. It took my breath away and after a couple of minutes I was able to complete the game. Not sure what hospital i would still be in if I was wearing my old jock. I was hit so hard that the nice shinny finish on the outside looks like someone took a 60 grit sandpaper to the outside of it. I will be purchasing another as a spare.

This is the most comfortable cup I've ever used. Generally while umpiring baseball I am aware of the fact that I am wearing one, but so far this season there have been a few times I have gone back to my bag because I thought I forgot to put it in. However, it hasn't yet been tested with an impact, but the videos of it are highly comforting that it will be awesome.
