Oxford Handbook of Emergency Medicine (Oxford Medical Handbooks)

This book is nice to read and well laid out. Lots of scoring systems and theoretical background. But it assumes access to subspecialties and so doesn't cover some treatment plans (eg. Rabies vaccination schedule). It's a good read, but not helpful at 2am with a decompensating patient.

Probably one of the best pocket and quick reference books for Emergency Medicine. It goes directly to the point and has all the major subjects for both the adult and the pediatric patient. Up to date in all the information for today 2012. Don't hesitate to get it for either studying or as a reference for work.

I brought this book to my ED rotations, and not soon after I have seen other people buy the same book. It covers most everything you are likely to meet in ED. It will not replace Up To Date, but it's a great little guide.

Precise and to the point. Must have for working in A & E. Small size makes it easy to carry. Have a kindle edition on my phone as well as a handbook.

I am disappointed as the copy i received was not the one in the photo, but one that is specific to India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Myanmar. It did arrive promptly though.

Paper quality is very thin, unsuitable for highlighters. You will eventually need another EM book to supplement this Oxford EM, i.e this book doesn't give all details.

Package hasn't even arrived. Ordered fast international post and it's over 5 weeks since I placed the order with a no show. Not good enough.

Imitation leather. .. No. .. Plastic, yes . .. Cracked cover( sharp edges) the item itself is practical and informative for an old school medical like me. ... This item will never run low on battery or glitches, unlike the apps on the FY1's inevitable iPhones . .... Turn page, read, repeat. .. Ideal....

Good compendium but, similarly to the others of the same collection, not the adequate to tag along in a day at the ER.They're pretty okay and the information is amazing, however it's a little book that fits a more calm environment, ideal to clear some doubts and talk it out with colleagues and stuff.

Provides a different slant on JRCALC. Worth purchasing if you’re pre-hospital front line or A&E!

Very useful for those on call nights. Cover quality is great, typography is very good as well.It's also organized in a nice way to make it easier to find the topic of interest

Just started in A&E (as an F2). This is a really useful go-to for the things that you almost remember but can't recall the details for management of.A re-assuring, easy to access companion that fits perfectly into scrubs trouser back pocket. Would certainly recommend to anyone in a similar position.

Good, compact knowledge. Good on diagnostics - a bit scarce on "so what you do now is this..." - Bought this from amazon marketplace - but I received the "South Asia" edition as opposed to the UK version, but it seems like it's not missing anything.

Just the book I needed for my current advanced nursing studies. I will certainly buy used books again. This was in great condition.
