TMX Elmo Extra Special Edition

I purchased this item for my son as he absolutely loves Elmo. I was surprised to see how well made this item was, and just how cute it really is. The way that it moves and laughs is intoxicating, to the point that it can easily get everyone in the room watching it and laughing right along. Its a great piece of machinery as it gets on its back, its hands and knees, its belly, and it always ends up back on its feet ready for another round.This version of the Tickle Me Elmo comes with clues, that, if done correctly will provide a different sequence of movement and laughter then its usual repertoire. I have pasted the clues below that you can try to figure out! Clue #1: A silly surprise can be found / something with a musical sound / Just lift Elmo's arm straight in the air / Then find his belly and tickle him there! Secret #1: Lift Elmo's arm and tickle his stomach at the same time. Elmo will raise his hand up and down, say "Oh, you really did it this time" and begin singing. The song is "Elmo's ticklish, ticklish, and he's laughing like he's never laughed before" sung to the tune of "Maniac" from Flash Dance. Clue #2: What's bothering Elmo you will know / When he does an exercise involving toes / The plan will go without a hitch If (when he's not looking) you pull a switch / Then tickle his extremeity and Elmo's problem you will see Secret #2: Raise Elmo's right arm, then move his face down to his toes and tickle his feet. This gives Elmo the hiccups and another laughing fit. Clue #3: For silly Elmo sound effects/Follow all these silly steps/How big is Elmo? Have him show you/Then if he goes to sleep, don't let it throw you/Just one more secret tickle place/and you'll hear the silly sounds that Elmo makes Secret #3: Press "4" to watch the teaser video for Secret #3. Elmo raises and lowers his right hand, then falls to the floor laughing hysterically. Clue #4: Elmo's trying without success/To get out of a silly mess/He's doing a workout on the floor/Is he "off"? Is he "on"?/ It's certainly never a bore/Leg-lifts always make him grin/So do tickles on his chin/But, when his workout at last it through/You'll see what Elmo finds so hard to do. Clue #5: Elmo's got a serious question/So, place him in a standing position/Raise his arm...up, up it goes/Then bend him over to his toes/Now tickle his foot (that's your final task)/And then it's time for Elmo to ask. Clue #6: We think you've got a secret.../One that Elmo knows/To find o ut what it is.../Turn him off, sit him up and rest his hand on his toes/Get on with it...lie him back/Do a sit-up and relax/Arm on the floor/Stand up once more/And tickle his belly, too/And, that's the way you'll find out.I have figured out most of them, but ill leave the adventure up to you to solve it! I'm not a parent: I purchased this for my nephew's Christmas present (he's 7 months old). I had some doubts as it seems to be a toy for "older" kids.The packaging is great and was a lot of fun and I'm a sucker for "cute".My mom took it out of the box right away for my nephew and everyone stopped opening Christmas presents to watch the Elmo laugh and roll. It brought a lot of laughter to all of us. I feel that it's a big, heavy toy for a "stuffed animal". I do not think that it's a "cuddle" toy. But, my nephew is a pretty stoic 7 month old and was fascinated by the movement and wasn't trying to go after the toy with his sticky jam hands to eat it or anything. Since this is my mom's first grandchild, I think we are all just pretty amazed with the toy and enjoyed the novelty of it. Personally, I think the laughter would get to me if it was all day, but it's at my sister's house and not mine so I'm alright with that. My sister thinks it's the best and loves the cookie monster one I got too. I was pretty happy with the toy for the price, the novelty, and the "cool aunt" factor I got.

I bought this toy for my son's first Christmas. He was far to young (7.5 months) to push the right spots on command and figure out Elmo's special tricks, HOWEVER... he really loves this toy! He smiles and laughs at it...he has learned to crawl towards it... sometimes he does hit the right spot and is so proud when Elmo giggles! I do wish the body was a bit more padded, however the animation built into this toy is amazing! This toy is also on the LOUD side... we have to play it in a spacious room, it scared my son in his crib or a small room. A volume control would be a nice addition.Overall, my whole family enjoys this TMX eXtra Special Edition Elmo! We play with him several times a week!

I rated this product very high, but need to clarify that in my mind it's a very short-lived toy and once the initial "check this out" amusement has faded it will be relinquished to a corner shelf to live away it's days.Good: it's funny as all get out. I found myself laughing and chuckling every time I pressed it's tummy. The batteris seem to last quite a while. Reasonable price.The not so great: it's hard (not at all cuddly like you would expect Elmo to be). It's loud. It gets boring very quickly.

Tickle me Elmo. It is so funny, you have to laugh. It did sit up at exactly the wrong moment right in my daughters face and it scared her so we had to put it away for a couple months. Now she is older and no longer scared of it even if it sits up when she doesn't expect. Ha! You did it again!

If it wasn't for the mechanical problems, I would have given it a higher rating. I ordered one, only to have it not work properly. It would not complete songs, actions, etc... After a few days, it wouldn't even fall back, it just banged it's head on the floor, over and over. I returned it and ordered a replacement. This one is working so far, yet, I can't get it to do the special things properly. It does cut off before it's supposed to, a lot! After two of these, I'm done, and won't bother with trying out anymore of these.

Our 15 month old got this for Christmas. It is really cute, and fun for everyone. Our older kids (as well as the parents and grandparents) got a kick out of Elmo. We are trying to find the special combinations of moves on this "extra special edition" but so far no luck. We will have to check the website. Only negative - it uses a lot of batteries! We are investing in some rechargables, so hopefully that will help.

My 21 month old calls him "Melmo" and he loves him. Great entertainment for my son (and his older brothers and most adults). He got the toy at 15 mos and really couldnt figure out how to leave him alone when he got to giggling and did his thing...so Elmo got knocked over a lot. Now really gets a kick out him and takes him everywhere. Definitely worth the money...well at least we got our money's worth!

Purchased this for my 2 yr old niece. The adults had more chuckles from it than the 2yr old. Only problem was that although it comes with 6AA batteries, the batteries it came with were dead on arrival. That was kind of funny though to see Elmo peeter out midway thru his routine! Wouldn't want to make it a regular thing - my niece became confused about what to push, pull or position to make Elmo go again!

Toy was in excellent working condition!

I purchased this item as a gift for my husband. What a kick!! All ages in the family have enjoyed Elmo and his antics. It made us seem like kids again.

This Elmo toy has put the fear of God into my daughter who avoids like it's a minion from Hell. The first few times she activated him she watched curiously and a little apprehensively. After that she just cowered behind my leg and cried until he was out of sight. Every so often I bring him back out to see if things have changed for her but they haven't. Now she sees him and cries instantly with a cry that's not just that of complaint but actual fear. I hate seeing my daughter like this so this toy is gone.Strangely she likes Elmo on TV and watches him gladly, but this doll to her represents fear.Also, after the first few tries the doll started behaving erratically and would get stuck in certain positions (or just freeze mid sentence) or just activate on its own without anyone touching it.Not good.

Cute toy, does what it is expected to do, but not cuddly by any means. Very robotic. Bought it for my 1yr old, as she loves Elmo... and she liked it until we turned it on then she kicked it and couldn't get away from it fast enough. I think an older child would enjoy it's antics. We've shelved it for now....

I was really looking forward to this Elmo EXTRA special edition for our baby, but this is the worst unboxing experience!There were literally battery acid everywhere on the battery casing when it arrived. We tried to clean the area and put new batteries, but the product was dead. I am not sure if they go through quality control, but this item was definitely been used.. There were scratches on the eyeball, and stains everywhere. I am so disappointed, would rate it negative stars if I could.
