Goodbye Charles

This play is hilarious!
I have used Cynthia's monologue during her proposal for so many auditions and it has brought everyone close to tears from laughing so much. If you don't think this play is funny from beginning, middle, to end, then you're just not reading it with the proper voice. Makes me want to check out more of Gabriel's work.

Goodbye Charles
The play was great and has a strong message but it can become hard to follow as the author doesn’t really differentiate between flashback and reality much they just kind of intertwine.

loved my interpretation of the segment that I chose from ...
This play helped me get into graduate school. I performed a segment of it at a grad school recruiting program and most all of the schools interested, loved my interpretation of the segment that I chose from this play. Gabriel Davis did a wonderful job writing this play and defining the characters. This is a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great monologue to perform or an entertaining play to direct.

good moments
Good running theme regarding relationships. Use of many characters to tell one story keeps it light, funny, and fast. Only downside to that would be the lack of character depth as each character only has a short time to tell his/her story. Good piece to take funny short monologues from. Good starter piece for beginner actors.

Really great, quick read
I had to read this cause I'm doing Cynthia's monologue for a class. I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was -- not a dull moment. Filled with really awesome monologues, too. I finished it in about thirty minutes, too.

A fun play to read!
If you are into silly, short plays to read that have some crazy plot twists, check this play out! The only problem I have is that there are some typos. Great selection of unique monologues all throughout the piece for male, female, and non-binary actors!

Goodbye Charles - a fun play with lots of surprises :)
I loved reading Goodbye Charles. Such a great book for monologues for an actors. There are lots of fun twist in this story that reminds people that love is sometimes hard to execute and how simply understanding the heart of others lessens the pain and struggle.

Funny, and extremely intertwined.
I read this because, I plan to use one of the monologues for an audition. It's a funny, well written play that sparks the imagination and had me thinking of so many different spin off films, or plays for each of the characters. Which are all as large as one another.Fun quick read. Recommend.

Just ok
Not terrible. Not great. I get the humor and the sentiment but, it just fell short of anything substantial. I wouldn't recommend it.

Great play
One of my students found the monologue from this play online and upon reading it found it to be a really interesting comment on the 'Peter pan' generation of young men.The student in question had to perform a monologue and write a piece on the social/historical/political context. As this is such a new play that there was little information out there on it.I managed to contact the playwright directly who got back to me very quickly and was happy to answer all of my questions. The performance was brilliant, a perfect mix of comedy and tragedy.Highly recommend.
